Getting frustrated....

Connor seriously will not eat anything but damn purees. I mean, he will eat puffs, Cheerios, crackers - ok he'll eat anything that's kinda hard but he refuses everything else. I have tried everything I can think of to get him to eat but he refuses and I'm getting so frustrated. Last night I tried to give him cheese and tomatoes...the dogs ended up eating them bc he threw them on the floor. Then I tried a textured Ella's and he gagged and made himself throw up. I am just at a loss at what to do anymore. We've been trying to get him to eat for a few months now and he won't . Suggestions are super welcome, I just feel like I'm doing this all wrong...I think part of it is my hormones but whatever.

Well I think you can go in two directions. Either withhold the purees until he's hungry enough to start eating (obviously he can he just chooses to hold out for the purees). Or just keep giving him the purees and slowly try to introduce new foods like you've been doing. Just keep trying! The purees are not bad for him so i don't see the harm in continuing. I doubt he'll be eating purees at 5 so at some point he will gain more interest in foods!

When you said he likes hard stuff, my first thought was to try giving him frozen peas. I give them to Em when she's teething and she loves it. We've also done frozen grapes and then I cut them in quarters. Do you give him jarred purees or homemade ones? Maybe if you start doing homemade, he'll start getting more used to the taste of "real" food and you could slowly start making it chunkier and chunkier.

Thanks ladies. I will definitely try to withhold the purees and will also try the frozen stuff. Hopefully he'll start eating regular food soon!!
