I think my LO is in some serious pain because of her molars. She has two popping through on the right and her gums are swollen everywhere else. She won't take naps unless she is in someone's arms. I am a teacher and I just finished up my school year, so I do have time to nap with her, but I don't want to create bad habits because there will be days when I actually have to get things done during nap time!
Just wondering if you have had the pleasure of experiencing this milestone yet? The other teeth were nothing compared to this! The little girl is just miserable
Re: 1 yr Molars, anyone?
Oh yeah. Hannah got 3 all at once a couple of weeks ago and we had a weekend of screaming, misting all night, and general crankies.
I hope it passes quickly!
Yup, two up top have started popping out and her bottom gums are swollen and I can feel two just under the surface.
We made smoothie Popsicles (fruit, milk, ice, sometimes yogurt) for her to gnaw on. I give her one right before her nap and it helps numb the gums so she actually sleeps. At night if we don't give her Tylenol she wakes up screaming after about an hour. I can't wait for this to be over.
Molars= Devil's work. My LO has 3 and the fourth one is about 2/3 of the way thru. All I can suggest is ibuprofen, amber teething necklace, hylands teething tablets- or strips, frozen washcloths, and praying and hoping and liquor- jk. (for you not her )
Have you thought about wearing her during the day? It helps my LO and both of my hands are free!
You (and everyone else here) have my deepest sympathies!
Molars Suck! And I hear canines are worse
We are going through it now.. two 1.5 hour wake ups in the middle of the night for the past 2 nights. She's been inconsolable. I'm on my knees begging for them to just come through. Her whole mouth looks a mess.
Us too. DS has the top two coming in almost simultaneously and the bottom gums are so swollen I don't know how he " chews" with them! I don't remember when my daughter got hers. So far we have been surviving with extra nursing and Tylenol on the really bad nights. He wears an amber teething necklace during the day. I can't decide if that works or not to be honest but if he stays tolerable I keep putting it on him because it sure isn't hurting! Good luck mamas.
Good to know we aren't the only ones. Her sleep (or lack thereof) reminds me of this time last Summer and that was just no fun! I've been feeling guilty because I keep giving her baby Ibuprofen, but I guess it's ok.
With everything else, I know this too shall pass, but what a way to start off my summer with her! Hang in there all you mamas!
Every single tooth popping through so far has been a witch. Ugh. Her pedi told me yesterday that she was getting ALL of her molars at the same time, which explains why she has been trying to chow down on rocks...with that being said, I stay at home with her, so I can put her down for naps when it works for her. She has a nice little routine down.
Don't worry about creating bad habits with your baby by laying down with your LO. That will just be a phase, replaced by something else that works in another month or so. Do what works now for you and your LO.
