What's the difference between things like DiDi, MoDi and such with twins? It has something to do with the placenta(s), right? I just started working in the OB feild and this is something I'm trying to figure out. Of course I could Google it, but sometimes that's hard to understand lol

Page Peakay. She's got a nice diagram that she posts.
But yes, it has to do with placentas and amniotic sacs.
Yes it has to do with placentas.
Di/di means two placentas, two amniotic sacs. They could be identical or fraternal.
Mo/di means one placenta, two amniotic sacs. This has to be identical.
Mo/mo means one placenta, one amniotic sac. Also identical.
