Update--Chicken Pox

Well Ladies DD does not have chicken pox:) However she does have Hand, Foot , and Mouth Disease per our Pedi. Which I don't understand because she does not have the rash in her mouth or on her hands. Anywho the rash is drying up now and hopefully will be gone soon. Thanks for all your thoughts. Btw she did not have the "chicken pox" vaccine, I confused that  with another:()

Re: Update--Chicken Pox

  • When my son had hand foot and mouth several years ago, urgent care diagnosed him w/ strep throat initially b/c he had spots in his throat that appeared to be strep... whoops. He didn't have any spots on his hands or feet, anywhere! We thought he had strep too, we couldn't see anything in his mouth.  Better then chicken pox though...!  good luck!!

  • Maybe you should get him the vaccine, since it prevents the disease. Just a thought.

She will get the vaccine at 1yo, when she is old enough.

Yeah, this, they don't give them before that. It sucks that it's HFM, but much better than dealing with chicken pox. Speedy recovery!
