Re: Did you get PG on metformin and/or clomid?
After 2 miscarriages in the past 2 years, and problems conceiving both times, my doctor put me on Clomid and Metformin, and I'm now 15 weeks pregnant after only 2 cycles of Clomid and 3 months on Metformin! I know how frustrating it can be when you're having infertility issues...just hang in there and when it's meant to happen, it will! Wishing you all the best!
The first time I got pregnant, it was on Clomid + HCG. I lost that one at 9 weeks, unfortunately. This time, I took Metformin + Clomid + HCG. The first pregnancy happened on my 3rd Clomid cycle, and the 2nd happened on my 5th (after starting over again).
We had been trying for over a year on our own with absolutely no success. I think it was a combo of the meds and me losing a bunch of weight that led to getting pregnant.
No. It really doesn't hurt. It is the most relaxing thing. I loved it. Do go to someone who knows about accu for fertility though! I did two rounds of Accu and it worked for me!
I was on metformin for over a year I think and stayed on it for the start of the pregnancy. Originally I was doing the clomid and met but my body didn't do what it should with the clomid. So I moved up to injections and IUI. We got pregnant with the first cycle of injections and IUI but it didn't stick. We m/c at 5wks. For us it took a while to get the right medications, the right combinations of medications and the right dose for the injections.
I tried accupuncture once and it wasn't to bad.
I started working out before becoming pregnant this time. I haven't been able to do it much now that I'm pregnant but I think that the eating better and weight loss helped along with the medications and such.

Naturally with PCOS
If it hadn't been for Metformin, I don't think I'd be pregnant right now. I can't know for sure if it was the Metformin alone that did it, but I know it did a LOT to help!
I have PCOS. It went uncontrolled for my entire reproductive life. I finally found a doctor who understood what it was and how to treat it, so she put me on Metformin. I began losing weight I couldn't get off even with my best efforts without even trying. I lost about 35 pounds total, but then the weight loss stopped and I couldn't seem to get anything else off, Metformin or not...
The doctor had me on birth control for the first 6 months I was seeing her. She wanted me on it to keep my insides cleaned out, since I just couldn't have a period on my own. When I first went to see her, I had gone a year and a half without having had a period. I went off the pills, and my first cycle off the pills, I had a period on my own. I had a regular cycle of about 30-32 days every month thereafter, and my BBT charts showed I was ovulating. I was so happy!
But I never did seem to get pregnant for some reason...
We had my husband checked out, and his count was low, there was bad morphology, and bad motility. That was a really heavy blow to me. I was already dealing with so much with my own infertility problems, and then they tell me he has infertility issues too!!
We got him on some vitamins and supplements, though. I don't really know if it worked to make his numbers better. We never got him checked again after that first time.
I did use some extra little tools, though. I tend to credit the Pre-Seed lubricant with my pregnancy, because I never seemed to have eggwhite quality CM on my own. I also used the Instead Cups.
Obviously the combination of Metformin, the Pre-Seed, and the Instead Cups worked. But, seriously, I don't believe it could have ever happened without the Metformin. That stuff is my miracle pill!
Clomid baby here! But no met. I had fairly regular (35-40 days) cycles, but clearly had some issues with my follicles releasing egg, and thats why the RE suggested clomid as the first medication to work with.
1st clomid cycle of 50mg - egg didnt release from follicle / dissolved / something like that
2nd clomid cycle of 100mg - 1 egg, iui and we were pregnant!
Husband's sperm was all good with mobility and motility.
I was put on Metformin after going off b/c and no period for a few months. A few months later, I o'd and was pregnant. That ended in a m/c. I then used clomid because my body was having a hard time getting back on track. That also ended with me pregnant, but another m/c. I then O'd on my own (we were told to avoid) and then Clomid after that again....and that's my current cycle. However, they don't believe clomid was in my system when I O'd this cycle....CD24. SO - I think I did it on my own again.
Met helped a ton for me. I wasn't overweight 5'4" 145 ish - but I did lose about 10-15 pounds and that's when I seemed to be at my best, ovulating wise.
Good luck!

I did 3 cycles of fertility treatments, all the same.
This included 5 days of 50 mg of clomid, a trigger shot (Ovirel? Ovidrel?), and an Intrauterine Insemination.
The third round was the charm!
Stick with it girly, they end result is totally worth it!
We did a total of 6 IUI cycles with Clomid for undiagnosed infertility, there was literally no medical reason why we weren't getting pg. The clomid worked great for me, I was getting 4 to 8 follicles each time. Within those cycles we took a summer off b/c I couldn't get to my monitoring appts. We decided to go ahead with IVF and had a cycle off to get all the blood work and paper work done and were waiting to get my period and it never came. Apparently this little girl decided it was her time to appear.
Depending on your diagnosis both of these medications can work miracles.
I've been on met for about 10 years. I did not start it for pregnancy but only for PCOS. However, that being said, even with my PCOS, it has given me regular periods, and I get pregnant at the drop of a hat.
Not at all. I did it to try to get DD to drop when I was about 39 weeks pregnant with her (trying to avoid a C-section). I went to several sessions. It was not at all uncomfortable.
Up until talking about your husband, this was me exactly. However, it turns out I had a separate issues of low progesterone production, so I needed prog. to conceive in the end. But with both met. and prog., I conceive extremely easily, as it turns out...
