any kind of pain medicine for their round ligament pain? I've had it all day and night since Saturday. I went to the doctor (not mine; she's on vacation) and he told me basically to suck it up, that it's just round ligament pain and that I will be fine. I am at the point where I cannot go about my everyday things. I am "this" close to puking and/or passing out from how bad the pain is. I read online that if the pain is bad enough to where you are nauseous or fainting, you need to see your doctor, which I did.
I do have a chiropractor appointment on Friday morning, but I don't think I can wait until then. I have been taking extra strength Tylenol, but it does nothing for me.
Have any of you been prescribed anything like Vicodin or something else hardcore?
Re: Has anyone been prescribed....
I have never heard of RLP being so bad it makes people puke/pass out.
Are you sure it's RLP?
I was prescribed Vicoden for my sciatica pain as well as migraines. Unfortunately, Vicoden makes me ridiculously constipated, like we're talking a week's worth of issues every time I took a single pill, so I decided I'd rather just deal with it.
I've been seeing the chiropractor twice a week, and that's helped a lot. If the pain is that bad, I would just call the office and tell them that Tylenol just isn't cutting it. Hopefully they'll be able to prescribe something that will help. Good luck!
This... Maybe get a second opinion but I would try to stay away from pain killers as much as possible while pregnant.
I showed the doctor where it hurt and he said it was just RLP. He really just blew me off though. I told the nurse about the puking/passing out issue, which I figured she'd let him know about.
Your doctor is correct, suck it up. Pregnancy isn't a breeze.
And if you are seriously this concerned about it, perhaps visit the ER, it doesn't even sound like RLP...or you are exaggerating it too much.
I'm confused, did you actually faint or vomit?
I only recommended the ER because the OP always has something a bit dramatic to post and a dramatic visit to the ER seems right up her alley.
So, you assuemed the nurse would accurately communicate your symptoms to the doctor? Mistake.
He probably blew you off because you never mentioned that you felt like fainting or puking and thought you were overly concerned about muscle aches.
::giggle::
Yeah, they can't do jacksh!t for RLP. Pain meds aren't going to help at all. Your other symptoms might be morning sickness. You are pregnant, you know, and that nausea can pop up throughout the entire 40 weeks.
Wait a minute... is ChristyML the one who started the anti-prenatal vitamins debacle? If so, she won't take vitamins but now she wants narcotics?!?
Drink more water and take a Tylenol. Geesh!
LOL. I love all of this.
Nope - I had bad RLP early with this pregnancy and water, potassium (bananas) and yoga stretches (my Iyengar teacher gave me some good ones) really helped.
Have you tried adjustments or yoga also? Seems a little strong to get vicodin for RLP - most care providers I have seen with my 3 pregnacies would also tell me to just hang on, I think.

As per usual, you are being a drama queen. No, the doctor won't prescribe you Vicodin for RLP. That's just ridiculous. I have severe scoliosis, with two steel rods in my back that cause me crippling pain daily. I no longer take Vicodin because I am pregnant and the health of my daughter is more important to me.
Suck it up, drink more water and take a Tylenol.
