So I was cramping most of today and decided to go to the doctor just to be sure everything was ok. Which it is.....
But then she gave me the results of my last bloodwork whichs predicts 1 in 64 chance of down's syndrome. I am going to maternal fetal medicine specialist on the 29th to have scan.
Prayers would really be appreciated...as well as success stories with those kind of odds.

Our IVF miracle, Baby Boy M, arrived on 11/8/2012!
I hate those tests. They have a ridiculously high false positive rate. The odds are on your side. Stay strong!
Couldn't have said it better
hey the chances are only about 1.5% that anything is wrong...
that's a 98.5% chance that everything is gonna be ok- pretty darn good odds to me!
my down syndrome risk is 1/70 and I was panicked at first but my OB said "would you really bet on 1.5% chance of winning in Vegas?" I felt better right away. I'm waiting on my Maternit21 test results now and hopefully I find out that the baby is fine but either way, I'm not stressing right now.
Hang in there, do another test - either Amnio or Maternit21 and get a yes/no answer. Then you'll know for sure!
During my first pregnancy I was given a 1 in 100 chance based on the blood test results. After the scan with the perinatologist it went down to like 1 in 1,000 or something like that. My DS was born without Down Syndrome.
Unfortunately I feel they don't make it clear enough that the blood test have a very high rate of false positives. This time around I will definitely not be doing the blood test.

Thinking of you OP. Good luck with the additional testing.
And, no, they aren't false positives. They are chances. No one said the baby has downs at this point. Like PPs said, there are much higher odds that the baby is fine, so please don't poo poo the tests for giving straight statistics.
