My tech wouldn't guess either. She said it was too soon to be able to tell a difference anyway.
My NT was not very long at all if I count the ultrasound time. That was about 15 mins. The waiting before and the genetic counseling meeting after took a bit longer so the whole appt ended up being a few hours but that had nothing to do with the NT u/s itself.
From everything I've ever seen about the baby's development, it's really not possible to tell if it's a boy or girl that early. I wish you could, but I think the odds are still 50/50
My NT scan only took about 10 minutes, but the baby was in the right position and the tech was able to get the measurements he needed right away. My friend's took over an hour because baby would not move to the right place.
My NT ultrasound took about 30 minutes. The baby was moving around a LOT, so that's why it took that long. My ultrasound tech did not even try to guess at the baby's sex. We'll find that out at 18 weeks as long as the baby is crossing his or her legs.
I got my NT results back within two days, which I thought was very quick!
