NBR: Fun things to do in Branson, MO??

Hey ladies!  Hope you all had a fantastic weekend!

Just a quick question: DH and I are headed to Branson, MO next weekend for a little get-away before the baby comes.  We'll be staying at a cute bed and breakfast that is pretty much close to everything.  We've checked out different websites with suggested things to do, but I also wanted to ask ya'll... if anyone has been there, would you mind letting us know your favorite places to go/things to do/places to eat??  Definitely stoked about our long weekend together!! :)

  • LOVE Branson! We did that every year growing up. Great memories. :) Some fun things to do are Showboat Branson Belle (the river boat show and dinner. IT'S amazing :) ) Dixie Stampede was always my FAVORITE thing to do. I still crave their food. ;) and going to do the ducks land and sea tour is always a huge hit. If I'm not mistaken, you can rent a pontoon boat and go out on the lake with nothing more than a drivers' license (they're SUPER easy to drive) and that might be a fun thing to do. The Ripley's Believe it or Not museum is also interesting. :p Hope you have a blast! :)

  • Go to Silver Dollar City. It's unlike any other park. While parts of it are directed at kids, other parts are directed at adults. There are unique shops inside the park, exhibitions, etc.. And depending on when you go, there may be special events happening. There are some rides you can go on while pregnant, and your hubby may find that he wants to go on some of the rides while you shop or hang out and eat, LOL. (FYI: don't wear white or any other clothes that become see-through when wet! You may get wet just walking past some of the rides--one of them has water guns on the boats, and others just splash.)

As a kid, my family went every summer to Silver Dollar City. We would camp. In the summer of 2010, I had a chance to take my kids and we all loved it. It was as great as I remembered it being.

  • ^ THIS as well. VERY nice. :)

  • well we lived in springfield until we just recently moved to help my dad out before he passed away, but trips to branson for us usually included shopping, 2 outlet malls and down on the landing, and food.  I'm now craving Rocky's, it's a little italian resturant down close to the landing.

  • I second Silver Dollar City. Went there almost every summer as a kid and of all the theme parks I've ever been to it is by FAR my favorite. Disney can suck it! LOL There is nice shopping in Branson and definitely consider seeing a music/comedy show. There are pretty great venues there. It all seems like good wholesome fun for the most part. If I remember correctly there's a nice little waterpark there too. I haven't been there for at least 7 years now so I don't know all the latest happenings and attractions.

  • I love going to Branson! I live in Springfield and go there quite a bit. Silver Dollar City or White Water are a must! Since it is so hot here I would recommend white water. I'm not sure how many of the water rides you can go on being pregnant but hanging out in the lazy river and wave pool is enough fun :) Also, we always go to the IMAX there to see a movie and eat at mcfarlands restaurant (in the theatre). The landing is the best place to shop. The Branson Belle is very fun and romantic :) Only if you can handle being on the boat. The dixie stampede is a fun show to go to. You get to eat and see a show all at once! Those are a few of my favs! Hope you have a fun and relaxing trip!!
