XP from pgal, quilt progress

for the monday and august check in crew, i finally have pics of the progress on Addy's quilt. the 9-patch took a while to put together, but now that its finished, the rest of putting it together shouldn't take too long. Want to have the top finished tomorrow so i can go buy the backing while Joann's is having a sale, or at least while i have a great 50% coupon for it.

The colours may not be particularly girly, but a good number of the fabrics are floral prints. we're going for a more earthy/vintage feel

it is awesome! good for you for making a bigger quilt that she can use for a long time

My grandma made me 2 quilts before she died in '86 and I have used them both all my life. They are twin and queen sizes. Trust me, she will really appreciate it when she gets older!!

Thanks!  i just never saw the point of taking all the time to make (and possibly hand quilt) a crib size quilt.  I wanted something she could take out in the yard and do homework on when she's older, or take to college or whatever.  when she's little it will be the cuddle with mommy blanket. 

we're due in summer, she's not going to need a crib blanket for a while :-)
