2nd Trimester

apparently my legs like to sleep too while i sleep.

anyone else having these issues!? every night i wake up because my legs are asleep, need to be stretched out, or i have an AWFUL charlie horse on my calf. i never had these problems until mid pregnancy, and let me tell you, it SUCKS. plus, it's already bad enough that i only have two choices when laying down: left side or right side :(

  • I had the same problem at week 21 suddenly. My midwife said it's mostly due to the hips/lower back adjusting to carrying a baby but she said it can also be a sign of dehydration, especially if your hands and arms start doing it too.

  • I haven't had it in my legs, but my ring finger and pinky finger on each hand go to sleep when I lay down.  It's sooo annoying.  I remember getting awful charlie horses in my calf when I was pregnant with my daughter (and when I was training for triathlons).  Charlie horses are usually caused by lack of potassium and dehydration.  Try eating something high in potassium like bananas and drinking more water and see if that helps.
  • My legs haven't fallen asleep yet but for the last four nights, my left arm has been doing this.  It's odd.  I hate not being able to sleep on my back!

  • No, but my legs always feel thisclose to cramping up at night, and they've felt that way all day today. This started after a hideous cramp I experienced a couple of nights ago. I decided today to up my water intake add a banana to my breakfast everyday to see if it helps.
  • Not my legs, but my arms every night.
