Work

It's so horrible! I find any and every reason not to go in and deal with my coworkers. Today I "twisted" my ankle on my way down the stairs to the car bf work. That buys me a couple of days (and I only work PT). I work in a hospital and I am on my feet all day the the C**t's that I work with seriously fight about something every day
(thank you Union for making these ppl unfirable). I can't wait to go on leave!! I'm 26wks and I am counting the bloody seconds!

Re: Work

  • Wow. Pathetic.  Go to work, you have a job for a reason.

It's people like OP, and the negative stereotypes they help foster and propagate, that made me so nervous about starting a new job KU.

  • Wow, there are so many people out there that would love your job. You are lucky to have one.

  • I totally get having a bad work environment, but IMO its more terrible to fake an injury when they probably need you there.  If its so awful, find a new job or just stay at home because there are plenty of people who would love to have any job.  If you are really hurt or sick, then thats one thing.  But faking it makes you look bad i hate to say it.  If you decide to stick it out just ignore the people you work with, as hard as it may be.

  • I feel your pain.  I was forced to switch to a different shift nearly immediately after telling my boss I was KU.  The people are much different, and not nearly as easy to get along with...and its been a very difficult transition.  I am looking into switching to part time or prn after maternity leave, so that I wont be stuck on this rotation full time.  Hang in there, I know its tough!

  • Wow.  So quick to judge.  She is obviously having a terrible time.  It's not up to us to be the moral watch dogs of society.  Allow a pregnant lady to rant.  Geez.

Ranting is not the same as faking injuries to avoid working.

  • This is why it's called work, and not playtime. It's not supposed to be fun all the time. As much as it may suck, be glad you can work now and save for your LO befoer you're on leave.

  • I understand where you're coming from entirely. The person who's desk it just on the opposite side of the half-wall from me is constantly whining about anything and everything. I don't think I've had a single day there (I've been there two years) where he's NOT been whining about something. Not fighting like yours, but still annoying...lol

Then she should QUIT her job and not fake injuries and call her coworkers disgusting names.  There are plenty of people out there who need jobs and would gladly take the one she doesn't want.  She is not just ranting, she is being straight up pathetic.

As long as you're thanking your union, make sure to acknowledge them for the benefits that enable you to take time off for your fake injury.

And where I'm from, faking an injury (i.e. playing hooky) makes you the first in line to be fired.

  • With unemployment the way it is you should be happy you have a job.  If you don't like your coworkers just ignore them or quit so an unemployed person can have an opportunity to work.
