I called my doctor yesterday becuase my stomach felt more tight than usual, I had no appetite and it was just "different". The middle of my back was bothering me at work, and I knew since I hadn't eaten lunch that I wasn't overly full or anything like that.
When I got to triage they hooked me and the babies up to the monitor and they told me I was having contractions that were 2-3 min apart. I couldn't feel them.
Long story short they gave me Vistaril to slow the contractions to 3 in an hr and sent me home with a Rx for it to take every 6 hrs "for the pain".
I have an appointment to follow up with my doctor, but I dont want to take the medicine. It makes me very tired since it is relaxing my muscles, and since Im not feeling the contractions, I wont know if something is wrong. Im all around nervous at this point. Also, my cervix went from 4.6 to 3.5 in 2 weeks, which my doctor is not happy about.
Did anyone go through something similar?
Re: At the hospital last night, contracting every 2-3 min at 25w
I went onto bedrest at 23 weeks for a similar situation.
I used procardia instead - which is a blood pressure medication. Vistaril is an antihistamine that is found to quiet the uterus - which is why you feel so tired.
Keep us posted.
