fially feeling the effects of being PREG rant!!

I had my one hour glucose test this past tuesday and YAY i passed!! I could not go over 137 and my bgL was 99! :):) Thats the ONE great thing that has happen since I started my third tri.  Insert all the other CRAP that I've been dealing with:

1. I cannot breath bc since my frame is so small (5'0 height post preg weight 115) my diaphragm is not flattening like it suppose to so sleeping without gasping for air at all times of the night is a regular occurance

2. MY lower back is hurting soooo much that even sitting is uncomfortable

3. 50 Charlie horses/ night has got me cranky and uncomfortable

4. MY cutie pooches (pure breed yorkies) are causing my allergies to get SOO out of wack that on top of the allergy meds (singular) my doc gave me Im now taking perscribed Zyrtec every night so I dont CLAW my eyes out and RIP my nose off. They (dogs) are begging me to pet them everyday and I feel so bad bc I have to Shoo them away :*(

5. Because mY allergies are so bad I have a syte on my eye and pimples in my nose that are EXTREAMLY painful :( (currently being treated with neosporin for nose and hot tea bags for eye)

6. My BELLY got HUGE over night so its heavy, uncomfortable and everyday at work SOMEONE says "oh wow!! your looking preg now, your face is so plump" :/

7. Still Have not gotten anything for this baby, I have NOT registered yet and im suppose to be picking out the invitations for my baby shower and THAT has now gotten done YET (baby shower is AUG. 11th)

8. Ive gained 2x the weight Im suppose to im currently 147 post preg 115. So my doc's nutritionist put me on a well baby diet wch includes not indulging and exercise everyday.

SOOO YUP thats my rant *insert otis scream* thanks for reading :)

Re: fially feeling the effects of being PREG rant!!

  • i def. spelled FINALLY wrong!!  I guess PREGGO brain is in FULL effect NOW!!
  • I'm not really sure how any of that is so bad..

Exercise and a good diet is good for you and the baby...

    You passed the glucose test..

An being pregnat isn't fun.. don't listen to anyone who tells you it is!!

  • Loading the player...
  • Hang in there. It will all be worth it in the end. And definitely try to increase water intake - that should help with those awful cramps!

Yes I'm not one to always go there, I know complaining is natural, but honestly just be happy you are PG and healthy.

  • I can't tell if you're just having a bad day or if you really complain this much.

    1. sleep propped up.

    2. see a chiropractor

    3. up your water and potassium.

    4. um, you have allergies and dogs.  not sure what you expected?

    5. um, ew.

    6. This is what happens when you're pregnant.  Again, what did you expect?

     7. you could have been online registering instead of typing out this post?

    8. a healthy diet is a good thing.

I really don't understand what you want any of us to say here.  There are women on the TTTC and IF boards that would kill for these problems.

  • Yeah, I kind of agree with the PPs. None of that sounds too bad. I'll trade you for my (what has become severe) asthma and puking from a food allergy. I try not to complain about the issues I'm having. I actually rejected my GI's request to do an endoscope in a few weeks because I figure at this point, I can tough it out until the end.

Being pregnant sucks sometimes, but you sound like you might need to get a grip.

  • Well I wasn't looking for any sympathy or grief. I thought that since all of you ladies are pregnant you would all have those days where you just saying "F"!! I understand that there are MILLIONS of women out there that would KILL to be in my position. And I truely hope and pray that they get pregnant one day. BUT jeeze it was just a RANT!! I have NEVER been pregnant, my pregnancy was NOT planned and along with coming to terms with actually being pregnant I have all these otehr variables!! YES I love to feel my baby MOVE, I LOVE that I blessed with the ability to get pregnant and CARRY a baby for as of now 7months or 28 weeks and Im a nurse so I know that exercise and good eating is great for my baby. SO sorry If I ranted TOO much for you all. I thought this was a pregnancy BLOG not a Im pregnant and everything is GREAT  blog.

PS: yes I realize that I have dogs and uhhh huhhh i got allergies too. Before my husband and I relocated and before I got pregnanct we lived by the ocean and I was on Immunotherapy for my allergies. After I found out I was pregnant my Allergist took me off the allergy shots because I had not been on them for 6 months. So dealing with allergies and puppies in the Mix is just a bit frustrating.

This is as close to a bragplain as I think I've seen on S12. You are trying not to complain... as you complain. Huh?

Eh, whatevs. I guess it was my way of saying it could be worse. I would absolutely trade allergies for the ability to breath without being on steriods and multiple class C meds. And, I don't even feel like my issues are close to comparing to what other ladies on here have dealt with.

  • I have severe asthma as well. I take catagory C medication along with steroids and another medication for my asthma. 3 pills every night so I wont croke from an asthma attack in the middle of the night.

  • By the way, Aisha, I think all of your pg "issues" are a direct result all the vitamin A you've been taking in from your skin care products. Just FYI.

For the love, are you 12? Seriously? I can get a typo here and there, but:

    croke
    catagory
    fially
    it suppose to
    wack
    syte
    EXTREAMLY
    its (it's)
    your (you're)
    im suppose to
    now v. not

not to mention the capitalization and apostrophe issues. This goes way beyond "PREGGO" brain.

    I love you!

  • Egh, I understand. This is my first pregnancy and even though I knew it was not going to be a walk in the park, there are things happening to my body that I didn't foresee that are truly unpleasant and, at times, difficult (month-long bathroom issues, stretch marks and insomnia, inability to sit comfortably on the train, the occasional fainting or near fainting and hot flashes, etc. -- you know what I am talking about). It sucks and I still very much want to be pregnant, but there are definitely times when it gets to me.

We all have discomfort. No one is denying that. But do you not know anyone that has been pregnant before? These (bolded) are all things that I expected to happen to me during pregnancy. Yes, it makes it hard at times, but it's not like we are the first group of women to ever experience this stuff. None of this is extreme (fainting is maybe the most extreme, but honestly this could be a low blood pressure issue or a needing to drink more water issue, which are normal in pregnancy).

I am the FIRST out of my group of friends to get pregnant. No, I have never known other pregnant people. Give the FTM's a break

yeah, but the great irony in this is that you are also a FTM, Anita, right? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Sure, I've known women who were pregnant before. I've never talked to them about their bowel issues during pregnancy or some of the other issues. Most women don't want to talk about those things unless it is with someone who can relate (which I was not able to do before). When it comes down to it, the actual experience of something is different from merely knowing that it could possibly happen to you. I knew I could pass out when pregnant or get hot flashes, but it is much more impactful when it actually happens. Just like I knew that my baby would kick me, but I wasn't prepared for how amazing it would feel the first time they did.

Why yes, yes I am. Unless you count my 1st tri m/c in April 2011, then I would be a repeat pregnancy person. But I have yet to birth a child.

Sorry, I didn't mean in any way to ignore the fact that you had a loss. I m/c between DD1 and DD2, and it's something that I still think about today.

    :(

I didn't take it that way at all. I've been pregnant before, I miscarried and it sucked. It is still occasionally difficult to think about and deal with. But I am a FTM, and this is the farthest I've ever carried a pregnancy, so I consider that a success in itself.

    Yes

I have a bad case of foot in mouth disease. It's a lifelong illness, and its symptoms are worse than asthma. Stick out tongue
