it's possible, some women even found out at 13 weeks, but it's usually because they've had a level 2 u/s done. but, everyone's different and have had different situations/experiences. i didn't find out the gender until 20 weeks. it's better to know farther along anyway, the genitals aren't fully formed/more noticeable until around 18+ to be honest.
It just depends. My dr's office won't even schedule your a/s until after 18 weeks. I will be 20 at mine. But I think elective u/s places will do them earlier--maybe someone who had one of those would know better...?
I found out at 18 weeks---I'd be careful about finding out too early! I had a friend who found out she was having a girl at 14 weeks and bought stuff for the room---even painted it pink. Then she had another US about 22 weeks and she was most definately having a boy!
I'm going to a boutique ultrasound place that guarantees their guess at 15 weeks (if they can't accurately guess they will bring you back again to be sure). My doctor will do an A/S at 20 weeks or so.

I went last night to an elective ultrasound place (14 weeks) and we saw it was CLEARLY a boy. He gave us several chances to really have a good look and they feel 110% sure its a boy. I go again to my dr. at 18 weeks and they will do the final confirmation but there is no doubt in my mind.
It seems like I am the exception, but at 14.5 weeks I was told "definitely" boy by the tech who did our elective and at 20 weeks we got a very clear girl shot!!
Our baby was not cooperating at the early ultrasound + the quality of the ultrasound was not as good as the one at our dr. office. So... my advice would be to take it as an educated guess that early on and wait for it to be confirmed at 18 weeks or later! We did not buy anything between the 14.5 week and the 20 week luckily. Or, if you do - keep your receipts!
so my ultrasound was yesterday... and it was as if my LO sat right on the camara... and there it was... his little penis... its a boy ladies... extremely excited.
