Went for my weekly appointment today and was hoping for old news. I've been 1cm and 50% effaced the last 3weeks. Doctor checked me and still no change.
So this bums me out slightly as I was really hoping for some progress. Then she says she is concerned about baby's size. She thinks if we let baby go past my EDD I will have issues with delivery. She is also concerned with the fact my cervix is doing absolutely nothing.
Given that, we set an induction for Monday the 18th. Looks like I'll go in that night to get cervedil and see if that can't jump start labor and will let me deliver naturally without further intervention. If that doesn't do it, add pitocin on Tuesday. In theory, we'll meet our little one Tuesday.
Not necessarily the birth I was planning, but I trust my doctor and know she wouldn't be making the recommendations if she wasn't concerned.
Sory for being so long winded. Guess I'm just trying to talk thru things for my piece of mind as I'm happy to have a date and plan but am also upset things aren't going to work out the way I was hoping (no interventions, etc.).
Have a great night and happy deliveries to all the remaining June mommas!
Re: Eviction date has been set...
At least yours iis willing to induce, mine just wants to go right to a c-section.
Good luck to you too!
You never know, you may go into labor on your own before the 18th. I was the same way, no change for 3 weeks & induction was scheduled. Then 2 days before I went into labor on my own! Also my baby was large (9 lbs 10 oz) and I was able to deliver him vaginally. Just wanted you to know anythings possible.
No matter how your LO arrives, I wish you luck.
Oh I'm right there with you. I've been 1 cm for 3-4 weeks now (can't even remember) and I go in today to get checked. I'm so hoping to have some kind of progress or at least a discussion of what the plan will be. I went 2 days past my due date with DS and labor started, but didn't really progress and ended up still having to get pitocin before I started dilating. I really don't want to do that again.
One way or another we'll have our babies in our arms by next week (me hopefully).
Good luck!
