3DPO Progesterone Level

Hey girls. This is my first cycle on Clomid so i'm not familiar with all of these routine tests. I know progesterone is usually done at 7DPO (which i am also getting done) but yesterday I had to go in for an U/S to check my ovaries and they did a progesterone test also. My test came back at 11.8 at 3DPO. i didn't speak with my doctor directly but he said he is very happy with that number although he would like to see it at 14, so he wants me to come in on thursday at 6DPO to test again.

Does anyone have experience with a 3DPO progesterone test? Is there a number that it should be at by that time?

TIA!

Re: 3DPO Progesterone Level

  • I can't answer your question, sorry, but I would like to know your doctor's reasons for putting you on clomid, if you don't mind me asking.  I am wondering when I schedule my RE appt at the year mark, if this will be an option for me.  I was thinking I remember you saying that you have a short LP and late(r) ovulation.

  • Sometimes LPD isn't about the actual progesterone production, it's about inadequate follicle production which is why clomid can solve it. That's what he explained to me and then I found this article that can help https://www.inciid.org/printpage.php?cat=infertility101&id=7

    I hope this helps!

  • Thank you so much for this article-  I am going to save it and bring it with me to my next OBGYN appointment (or RE, if I can bypass her).

I'm sorry you didn't get any answers to your question-  but the article you gave me does say 14ng/ml is "normal" at 7DPO and you are only 3DPO, so I hope this means you are on your way to great lining.

ETA:  I see that you know this already, in reading the OP.  Sorry Embarrassed
