I love my BOB stroller, I scored a used older model off Craigslist for cheap. Love it so much I wish I would have bought brand new. Wheels that lock (permanently or not) are essential as well as large diameter tires. I was an avid runner before we got prego with #2, had to stop at 12 weeks. Loved running with my BOB!

I have a basic Baby Trend. At first I thought it was fantastic, but it's over a year old now and is already basically worn out. It still works fine for walking, but it's really not designed or manufactured as well as the higher end joggers. If you're a serious runner, I'd go for the more upscale brands.

We bought the Schwinn Turismo -- although we haven't had the chance to REALLY try it out yet, we do have it assembled and have just pushed it around on different surfaces and LOVE it! I cannot WAIT to use it. It has real tires, real spokes ... love it. And we bought it off ebay because they had the best prices!
i have run with my bob revolution since my almost 3-yr old was 4 weeks old and still do, just used it this morning! they are wonderful. i plan to get a double bob stroller for this baby to join in on the fun.
you can use them in the city, on trails, anywhere - we took back all of our other strollers and only use the bob, not only for running, but as our only stroller.
if you plan to run a lot, i'd plan to purchase one new so the tires and frame can last for a long time. if not, a used one would be a good option.
Just FYI, most Baby Jogger brand strollers are not jogging strollers. They do make strollers for jogging, just be aware when you are shopping. A friend of mine has the BOB Revolution and loves it, and I have heard good things about the BOB Ironman too.
This is very true. The 3 wheel strollers most people refer to as jogging strollers are actually two different kinds of strollers: joggers and all-terrain. If the front wheel turns, it is NOT meant for running. Some have a front wheel that turns but also locks in place. I've read those are not really safe for running either. Make sure you get a stroller with a stationary front wheel if you're going to run.
Re: baby jogger question
We have this one and LOVE it. We live out int he country and use it on trails in the woods.
I got it brand new on Ebay for $199.00 and have seen them cheaper there for new as well.

If I had an extra $500+ laying around, I'd get the Joovy Cacoonx2. Not only can you jog with it, you can pull it behind your bike.
