Tomorrow is my GD test. I don't have to fast but I was instructed to "avoid sugary foods or foods that may turn into sugar" the night before and morning of the test. So, today DH and I bought a quart of Cliff's ice cream in Huckleberry Buckle and it's taunting me. I want some ice cream, dammit!!!
Re: Because I'm a glutton for punishment
Hmmm... she just said to try to eat more protein the night before and morning of and to "not have a bowl of ice cream after dinner." lol... Explicitly forbidden! I'm actually Hypoglycemic, so I suffer from low blood sugar...but I don't know what kind of numbers would come from a 1 hour test. I had a three hour done a few years ago and my doctor did one blood draw and was like...yep, you definitely have hypoglycemia. He was doubtful because he said true hypo is pretty rare...but there ya have it. If I fail the 1 hour, I'm probably going to just opt for the GD diet and pass on the 3 hour test. I really can't miss that much work...(I'm a temp to *hopefully* full time hire but for now I don't get paid when I'm out of the office) and in all honesty, it probably wouldn't hurt me to have a healthier eating plan. That being said...it will take a helluva lot of discipline on my part. I loooove food.

Lol...after my GD test, I'm going to be like Ben Stiller at the END of "Dodgeball." Covered in ice cream and fried chicken. lol...
My test is tomorrow too and I am avoiding the ice cream I just bought. I did have a bowl of cereal for dinner, so I am not sure that avoiding the ice cream will matter for me.
Good luck tomorrow!
