I just got called 'fat', or in her terms HUGE

So every week I put my weekly picture on Facebook so my family back in the States can see the progress of the pregnancy. One of my 'friends' a girl I used to work with back home commented, "Wow you got HUGE, your baby is going to be a BIG BOY!!" Okay so I don't know how to take that, I think she just called me fat?!?! I'm not sure, but either way when I read that I wanted to cry lol I mean I don't think I look THAT big, maybe it's the stripes?? Either way I replied back, "I am actually measuring right on track, so he should be pretty average size". 

Granted this did come from a girl who is about a size -5 and when she was pregnant she delivered at 35 weeks and her baby was only 5 pounds, so maybe she just isn't used to a normal size woman being pregnant?? I don't know either way she made me feel fat. 

Sorry just had to vent. And now for the picture that I posted on Facebook, do I really look that big???? (granted I know my face is taking on 'pregnancy face')

GIRL! You are little...and don't take that as an insult, you look fantastic!!!! People think they can say anything to pregnant women. Ridiculous.

Airmans wife, I think you look great!!!  Also, if this girl is really tiny and never really got very big with her pregnancy she probably got the opposite comments, the " omg you are SOOOO tiny" and "are you sure there's a baby in there?" and the opposite spectum of airhead comments from the public.  Maybe she's saying it as a compliment?  Pregnancy is a tricky thing, but it helps me to assume that people are just trying to be nice unless they prove themselves otherwise.    You are beautiful!

No, you don't look that big. Unless she's usually a rude, bitchy person I doubt she was trying to say you look fat.

Thanks ladies, you have made me feel better. She probably wasn't trying to hurt my feelings (she is super nice in person), so I am sure I just 'read it out of context', but that is what these pregnancy hormones do to me!!!

I am much bigger than you and weeks behind.  You look really good!  I send weekly pictures to my mom and she posted my 24 week picture on FB and all the comments were about how huge I am.  I got the it must be twins and my baby is being nicknamed Goliath.  I just wrote that my baby prefers to have extra room to practice it's katas.

You look adorable!  I think for 31 weeks you look smaller than I would expect someone to be at that point.  Looks like you were one of the lucky ones whose butt didn't grow at the same ratio of your belly too.  I look like I'm carrying one in front and one in the back!  Baby got back over here!

Thank you! Yes, I am surprised that my butt hasn't gotten bigger, my pre-preg jeans still fit except I can't button them because of the tummy! However that means my hips haven't gotten wider which could be a problem come delivery time lol

My theory that I came up with during this pregnancy is that people become "stupid" around pregnant women, even if they have been pregnant themselves. They just don't know what to say and I swear the wrong words ALWAYS come out!

FWIW, you bump is definitely smaller than mine and I'm only 1 week ahead of you. I am measuring two weeks ahead though. I think you look perfect!

You look PERFECT! Some people say I'm getting huge and others say I'm really small. I wish people would just realize we don't want to be huge or really small. We want to be right on track. They need to be telling us we just look great! Besides everyone grows differently.

 Anyways...I think you look amazing!

You don't look huge or fat or anything other than marvelous. You have a beautiful bump! 

If it makes you feel any better, I got called huge by a woman who was interviewing for my mat leave coverage. What she doesn't know is I have direct input on who will be hired. I told my boss I didn't think she was the right fit for the position. A bit evil, yes. But that will teach her to keep her mouth shut, especially around a hormonal pregnant lady.

I am also 31 weeks, I think we are about the same size and I think we are actually alot smaller than many of the baby bumps I see. Everyone is different and Im proud of my bump, Im SOOOO glad im out of that stage in the middle where my tummy is pouchy and ppl aren't sure if you are prego or not. Now its way obvious and I LOVE it

What?! You are not huge! You look fantastic.

My mom says the same thing to me every time I see her...but everyone else thinks I'm small. I take any comment on my body with a grain of salt. I just don't care what other people have to say about it!

I might be inclined to remove her post but that's childish. I tend to think people are just plain rude. I have had a coffee barista  tell me I should not have my half caff coffee. My co-teacher asked if I thought I had a really big baby (56% so no), had many many homeless men say really rude things while walking to work...I would just let it go knowing I would never be so rude myself.

For some odd reason people forget what 3rd trimester looks like and how big we are actually gonna get.  I've been told in the past couple weeks how huge I look too and how they can't believe I still have 10 wks to go!  You look great and right on track!  Pay no mind to the "huge" comments.  Usually they mean our belly's, but it doesn't feel good either way.

You do not look huge.  You look pregnant, and she should have been much more sensitive about her comments, having had a child herself (even if she was tiny!)  I'm sure there are many women who would like to be "huge" like you!
