So I randomly flip to the Kardashians because I don't regularly watch and the second I turn it there they happen to be talking about baby names for Kourtney's new LO. She quickly says that they have a list and Kim chimes in with "Mila, you should name her Mila, Mila and Mason would be sooo cute".
My jaw hit the floor because that is the name that DH and I have chosen and fallen in love with. I will be sooooo bummed if that is what she ends up naming her daughter because then the name will be on the rise for next year and I liked that it was a bit unique and that I have never met another Mila (I'm a teacher). We were set on not choosing a super popular name and when another bumpie suggested it, we knew that was the one. I know this sounds silly, but I defintitely do not want people to think that that is where we got the idea from either!
Would you feel the same way?????
BTW the full name we chose is Mila Christine

oh gosh. hopefully she doesn't take a page out of her mothers book with the K alliteration. (Kris, kourtney, khloe, kourtney, kendal & kiley)
I was so excited she didn't give Mason a "k" name... hopefully she doesn't decide to continue the trend with "m"
and Mila is sooooo cute
We are going with the Mee-lah pronunciation. We haven't shared our name with anyone either so now I will be on the edge of my seat until she has her baby and announces the name. We have been calling her by that name for awhile now too , so much so that I am attached and would be sad to change it.
Yeah I hope she doesn't pick it! Mila is a beautiful name.

I would be completely annoyed if the Kardashian's went w/ a name I chose too.
That being said, Mila is an adorable name, and Christine is a special name to me, runs in my family (my sister is Christina and we call her Chrissy, aunt is Christine, and sister-in-law is Christine).
I love your choice. And if anyone compares you to the Kardashian's, just explain that you don't watch that garbage, and did not name your child after them, (we won't judge you for flipping to their show... I happen to flip the channel to "garbage" sometimes too ;-)

Don't feel bad....Mila is our name and has been since I found out at 18 weeks it was a girl. Now every time someone asks if we have chosen a name and we tell them, they bring up the Kardashians. UGH!! Oh well....I won't be changing it just because of them.
If you love the name and are attached to it, go ahead and use it. I don't think just because a celebrity uses the name it'll become a super popular name, Look at some of the baby names out there that celebs use that no one wants to use: Apple, Moses, Bronx, Egypt, Morroccan. There's also a chance she won't even use that name. Do what you feel in your heart and if that means using the name no matter what, then do it
Good choice! I would stick with it, too, and Mila is gorgeous!
My cousin and his wife named their daughter Arielle. She was born right around the time "The Little Mermaid" came out. People often mistakenly think Ari is named after the movie which was not the case at all. My cousins just laugh and give it an eye-roll.
