I know this is a little early for me but reading someone's post made me think of it. When is a good time to pack a bag for the hospital? Also what all do you pack?
What I did when I was pregnant with DS was I packed all of the toiletries way before hand. We got travel size shampoo and conditioner and deodorant and toothpaste. My sister is a dental assistant so she gives us toothbrushes, I have two brand new ones in the bag for both SO and I, that way I don't "forget" during the labor process. I got special bath/shower gel (and body spray and lotion) from Bath and Body Works that I liked the smell but never used until that day. It makes me smile every time I use it now because it reminds me of the day DS came into the world.
With my clothes, I'll probably pack two or three outfits and underwear and socks right when I go into labor (that's what I did last time.) I knew I would use my clothes I'd be wearing until it happened, so I didn't want to worry, is it in the wash, etc. I knew I had enough time to do laundry (one load) to get it done before I went to the hospital. Otherwise, just pack it before hand. I went into labor 9 days early. There's no way I would have known if I had to get all that ready early.
I've already started (and almost finished!) packing mine. (I was admitted to the hospital at 34 weeks with DS1, and wasn't ready at all--so I'm ready early this time around!) I packed toiletries, snacks, clothes for after birth (I hated wearing the hospital gowns), and a coming home outfit for the baby. Honestly, you don't really need much; the hospital provides the essentials for both you and the baby. Just pack whatever you think you might need to make you feel better (IE your own shampoo, body wash, etc).
At about 35 wks sounds about right to me. I went at 37 wks with DS, so no way I am risking waiting later than that. I might do it earlier, just cause I can't wait to get it done, lol!

I've got mine started. Just so as I think of things I can throw them in or add to my "last minute" list. I have toiletries, snacks, and baby's going home outfit in there, clothes will be more last minute.
I will have mine packed and ready by 33 weeks - at least that's my goal. I'm at risk for PTL, though. I had DD2 at 35w0d unexpectedly and wasn't really prepared at all. I had DD1 at 37w5d and she was my first baby...I totally expected to go late! I had packed my bag just a few days before out of boredom. Ha!
I just use small travel size toiletries, pack a new toothbrush (2 - one for DH), a few snacks and my lounging and nursing clothes. Oh, and a FAN!
DD1: August 2009
DD2: December 2010
DS: August 2012

I wont even begin to pack mine until 37/38 weeks.
I dont have much to pack anyways since Im having a birth center birth and I'll leave about 4 hours after birth.
I pack mine at 35 weeks. I'm packing the same things this time as last time because I found them helpful.
For me: Robe, flip flops (for showering and walking the floor), nursing nightgown, tank top, yoga pants, chapstick, toiletries, nursing bra, camera
For DS: Going home outfit, blanket, two spare outfits
I packed mine a few weeks out then taped a list to the outside for things I didn't have duplicates of/would need to be added last minute.
My water broke at home and labor escalated quickly. DH had to finish packing for me and without the list who knows what I would have had ...
