I'm wondering if one of our name choices is just too much of a mouthful since we have a 3 syllable last name. The syllables would be 4/1/3.
Should I go with our other choice because the first name is only 2 syllables? I like both names so this might be the deciding factor.
Re: Too many syllables?
I cannot make an informed decision without the names in question. :-)
The only syllable combo I don't like is 2/2/2.
I have the same issue... Ours would be 3/1/3. Curse of long last names!!!

Oh! Penelope all the way! :-) That is DH's #1 right now! The syllable count for us would be 4/3/3 so.....yeah I like the long names.
And plus, Penelope will get shortened. It just will. Charlotte....might not. Charlie is a good nn but not really any "shorter" sounding, you know?
So if Penelope is Penny (or whatever), then she is 2 syllables just like Charlotte....bringing you back to Square One.
My vote goes to Penelope.
It's Nina and I don't think it makes a good sibset, haha. Boy name is Miles, I think that goes nicely though. MN for P is Bernadette, not sure if that would be too "Big Bang Theory" though in a sibet, fine for a mn that barely anyone knows though.
Other names we like are: Louise, Dorothy, Pearl, Iris, Mabel, and Colette. DH likes Violet, Beatrice, but Penelope is his #1 by far.
I have similar taste to your DH. Love all 3 of those names.
Not too many.
My DD has DH's hyphenated last name so her last NAMES are 5 syllables.
Her set up is
2/2/5
