Highchair Problems-blw related

So today was my first try at blw and the tray for the highchair is too freaking high for LO! I put her arms on top of the tray but she prefers them under. LO was trying to pick up the food but she couldn't angle her arms down to get the food. Does anyone have an alternative suggestion? The tray is on the lowest setting...

We use a fisher price space saver chair (for $25 at Target/Amazon) that attaches to a regular chair and the tray that comes with it works great.  Maybe get one of those until she's bigger?

Do you have a bumbo seat? If so, you can get a tray that attaches to it.

If you don't want to spend money you could spread a towel on the floor and just set her on that with the food in front of her.

When DS was too little for his high chair I just folded up a blanket and had him sit on it. It seemed to work.
