a) How many kids do you have?
b) How many kids do you want to have?
c) How many kids DID you want to have originally? (Can be the same answer as b, but I know I definitely changed my mind along the way.)

I have zero kids, one on the way and I'm thinking I'll be good with one but MH wants a whole football team...I'm thinking heck no.
Originally I wanted 2 or 3, but I think I'll be good with two at the most. I want to be financially secure enough to raise my family comfortably and I think kids are expensive and too many will not allow us to travel and do all the things we want to do as a family.

2-3. We'll have to re-evaluate a few years after this one is born if we want to go for #3.

4, but I decided against that when I got pregnant with DS.

We want 4...but we are a lesbian couple. 2 of each of our eggs. It costs us several thousand dollars just for sperm. And then there are infertility treatments on top of that. We will reevaluate in 4 or 5 years and see where we are.

a) So far we have two (a boy and a girl) with a third (boy) on the way.
b) We're still sort of undecided about how many. We're either done after this one or we may have one more in a few years. Really, a lot will depend on our financial situation.
c) I think our original number was "maybe 3" but after DD, I was ready to call it quits. We had one of each and I thought I would be happy with that. DH was not satisfied and here we are now expecting a third. (For the record, I'm THRILLED and now realize that I was definitely not ready to be done.) Again, I thought, "Ok, we're definitely done now." And again, no, DH thinks "maybe one more". Honestly, he wants another daughter, so I suspect if money weren't an issue, he'd want to keep going until he got one. I still think he may be ready to call it quits once we have three hoodlums running around.

c) I always thought I would want 3, and although we haven't totally shut the door on having a third, most likely we wont for a variety of reasons.

c) How many kids DID you want to have originally? Originally pretty set on three. Dh and I agreed to two in addition to SS however this pregnancy has really beaten me up and I feel VERY at peace with just have two boys now. Maybe ask me in 5 years if my answer changes

My dream family would be six kids but DH and I have decided to have four (God willing) and then wait a couple of years and reconsider. If we end up with a fifth child accidentally we will try for a sixth (I'm weird about having an even number of children).

As a kid I talked about wanting eight kids. Yea that has changed but not by much. DH has always wanted just two but he knew when he married me that it was unlikely we'd stop at only two unless something prevents us from having more.
Currently going through our second deployment. Can't wait for Zoe to meet her daddy!

c) How many kids DID you want to have originally? I've always only wanted 2. When I was pregnant with DS, I kind of thought maybe we'd want 3. But after having DS, I went back to only wanting 2.
ETA: That sounds really bad that after I had DS I only want two. I LOVE my son more than anything in the world so please don't take that statement the wrong way. I just realize that I am a person that gets really easily overwhelmed and I think having more than two kids will break me.

c) Originally, I wanted two. That is the number practically everyone I know has and it just seemed like any more than that would overdo it. Then I met DH and I wanted a bigger family. Also, recently some family drama has happened to where we don't get to see many of my family members and it stinks - so we want a bigger family so we can have more family around us.

I have always wanted 3 kids.
DH has always wanted 2 kids and was pretty adamant about being done after this one. Now that we know we're having another boy, he's more open to having a 3rd (maybe through adoption). I thought this one was a girl so I was open to the idea of being done after this one. Now that I know it's another boy, I would like to have a 3rd. But we'll see what I say in a year!

I have no kids. This will be my first.
I will wait to see how having one child feels before making a decision about how many kids I want to have.
How many DID I want to have? Well, it depends on when you mean. I was certain I wanted to be completely child-free until I was about 30. Then I started thinking, "Oh, maybe one day." Then we started trying, and I was already 35 when we really started trying in earnest (37 now). So, I don't know how many are possible. I've always said I wanted either 1 or 3, because I have one sister, and we don't get along, and I think that's a lot of pressure. My husband has one brother, and ditto. He has an adopted older sister, but she's old enough to be his mom, so, while she is completely awesome (much better than his ACTUAL mom), I consider him as having one sibling.
