What do you take for acid reflux?

At least that's what I'm assuming I have.  Since last night I've had minor heart burn and it feels like a hundred little knife blades inside my throat.  WDYT, acid reflux?  TUMS hasn't helped.

I've been taking Gaviscon. Tums weren't cutting it for me either. A girl in my prenatal class said she takes Pepcid.

I drink an herbal heartburn tea for pregnancy from Earth Mama Angel Baby but if TUMS hasn't helped then I don't think the tea would either.  May be worth a try though.

I've only tried tums so far.

I find it's the worst at night for me.  It does help me to have a light dinner and not to have anything within a couple hours of bedtime.  Having a glass of milk in the evening is helpful too.

Zantac works great for me when Tums won't cut it.

I do papaya enzyme or 1/4 tsp baking soda mixed with water. Some swear by vinegar. If none of that works, after an hour I will take Zantac--I can do up to 150 two times per day. Also, the milk thing is a common recommendation, but milk actually is a very acidic food. Personally, I no longer cosume non-fermented dairy (AKA milk) and it has made a huge difference.

My MW doesn't advise Tums because the calcium in them tends to not be absorbed well and can build up and create deposits. Also, there is some question about them containing aluminum which our family minimizes.

Tums did nothing for me.  Pepcid AC has been helpful and I just started Zantac 150 which seems to work as well.

Zantac 75 twice a day. One in the morning and the other before bed. Tums only as needed.

Nexium! It's the best stuff on the market right now but you need a prescription from your doc. You only have to take it once a day too.

I take Zantac 150s twice a day. Tums stopped working for me a long time ago. I used to take Pepcid but that also stopped working for me.

This.  I have to take it every 12 hours religiously!
