My baby shower is Sunday, but...

LO's room looks like we already had a shower! I don't have very much family (my mom is an only child and I don't speak to my dad/his side of the family) and my SO's family all lives in Texas and Mexico, so when I sent out 60 invites to almost all friends, I didn't expect too many RSVPs. I was nervous when I made out the list of people that were definitely coming and it was only about 40. Well, all the family that live far away have been sending gifts, which shocks me because they are family I don't see too often. Today we got our pack and play from one of my cousins in Canada that I haven't seen in five years! I did not expect such an expensive present from someone that I'm not that close to anymore and the gifts just keep coming.

We're all set for our shower Sunday and I registry stalk (bad girl...I know!) and all of our "necessary" items have been purchased (crib, stroller, pnp, bassinet, etc.), so that makes me even more excited! I was so worried with a small amount of people coming that we would have to scrounge up some money for the expensive things, but it looks like we won't have to after all.

Thats great you are getting so much help from everyone! My showers arent until the end of June and I went to change some items on one of my registries and noticed someone bought our crib mattress (a costly one) already-so that has me excited for sure! I hope your shower turns out well-40 people is still a great amount of people to attend!

Thats how it was a week or two before my shower- all the big stuff arrived- I loved it-its like Christmas!!! We are storing a lot in the garage right now like the high chairs, 4 carseats and bases and jumperoos! Its nuts! Have fun!

That's great! Doesn't it feel nice to have your LO's stuff in the house? It made me feel closer to him & helps relieve anxiety of not feeling prepared for him. I've had 1 shower, 2 more to go but we have TONS of clothes, his crib, car seat, bumbo seat, bath tub, & 2 bouncy seats.

I agree that 40 people is still a lot for a shower.  Thats about the number of people I am having.  Most of our "necessary" items have all been purchased too.  It is such a great feeling to not have to worry about them and that people are so generous.  Makes me (and LO) feel very loved!

Glad to hear all the gifts are pouring in! My shower is on Sunday as well, and expect about 50.  Which almost half is family (on my side alone).  My husbands family is from Hawaii so it's been nice to receive gifts from afar as well.  We've got all the big times taken care of as well, which is a relief!!!

My shower is Sunday too!!! WHOO HOO!! I haven't had anything mailed to me though.

I've only been to a few baby showers and they've all been huge (75+ people!), so when I saw 40, I thought it'd be a little small...but all of you ladies are making me feel so much better! It looks like Sunday is going to be a good day for all of us. The weather here in Michigan is going to be 75 and partly cloudy, so perfect! I was so relieved to see all of our big purchases off the registry...I'd much rather have to buy a bunch of clothes and little things than a $300 crib! Everyone have fun at their showers!

That's great! My shower is a week from Sunday and cross country, so things have already been arriving from our Amazon registry, and like someone said, it's like Christmas on my doorstep! I love it! I'm so excited to have gotten so much of the big stuff from family and friends, carseat, stroller, PnP, bathtub, carrier, ect. I'm still looking over our registries though and thinking we will have to fill in the gaps on quite a few things, but mostly smaller type items like a couple extra sheets, changing pad and covers, CD supplies, ect., and maybe the monitor. I've also noticed from my registry stalking that people seem to love bath stuff, most of what's been bought and stuff I have already received have been bath time items, towels, washcloths, baby bath wash, inflatable duckie tub for when baby is older, and the infant tub.

Congrats on having such generous people in your life.  My shower is Sunday, too, and I can't wait.  I'm surprised by having gotten an expensive gift from someone who isn't even invited to the shower, that I friended on FB last week.  People really can be wonderful!
