So I just got the email results and most looks like it's in the normal range according to the standard listed next to each result. The 1st number is Dh's the 2nd number is the "standard" range. I am a little worried about the "progressively motile" result.
Semen Volume 2.5 >1.9
Spermatozoa Normal % 31 >29
WBC count <1 <=1
Sperm Count 22.3 >19
Spermatozoa immotile 27
Nonprogressively motile % SEM FLD 17
Sperm Slow Progressive % 28
Sperm Rapid Progressive % 28
Sperm Progressively Motile 31 >59 mill/spec
Can anyone give me a reason not to worry?
Re: SA results are in..can you help me interpret them?
Also, Dh was supposed to have a Kruger test along with the regular SA. Does it look like those results are also in this group? I thought it would show up separately but so far only one test result, although it does say COMPLETE SA.
Kruger is the criteria of the standards (vs. WHO standards), so I think the results are complete.
I'm very rusty on MFI issues, but these results look OK. The overall count is on the low side of normal, which is probably why the last number of progressively motile (mill/spec) is low. However, the total motile is 56% which is good, and I believe normal. It's just that 56% of 22.3 million is on the lower end of things. It would be enough for an IUI at my old clinic, though. Also, 31% normal (I assume that's morphology) is good. I'd be curious whether your RE wants another SA done. Numbers can change a lot.
Good for him for finally getting it done!

Glad to know that his results are not terrible..but it is still making me wonder if he is the problem and if so what we can do to fix it. Of course my RE said not to worry about getting the results til we meet again in at least a month. UGH.
My nurse was helpful in explaining it this way: 56% of 22.3 million is still over 11 million sperm. That's a ton of little dudes heading toward your egg. Even if half of them go the wrong way, you've got 5.5 million going toward the actual egg-- every time DH and you BD. Those 5.5 million are going to be hanging around for 24-72 hours, so after 3 days of BDing, you'll have over 15 million sperm going after your egg.
Them's some good odds!

Yes that IS a good way to look at it! And the 56% that you speak of is just adding the two 28's, right?
This. The count can increase by changing around how often you BD and how long you wait before you give a sample too. Maybe your RE would discuss over the phone?
The only thing I know is what I put in my original post. It is all so confusing! I did email my RE..hoping she will just send a quick message letting me know all is well.
No help here but just wanted to say it is so nice to see you and YH moving things along! Great first steps!
ME:46 MH:44 DE IVF 2014
Met with RE 4/11. 2 IUI's BFN. DE best option. Switched clinics to do "shared" program. Had to retake all tests and a mamm that put me behind and then on a DE waiting list for 12 months. Picked a donor!! (10/13/13) Got matched. Estimated transfer in December. After 2.5 years of patiently waiting I will finally cycle....can hardly believe it. DE cycle got cancelled. One of her tests came back positive. Waiting for another donor. Donor picked!! (1/18/14)
DE IVF #1 (4/26) BFN DE FET #1 (6/4) BFP! Beta 1=339 Beta 2=852 Beta 3=9957 EDD 2/22/15!!
I know the minimum requirements to be...
Volume 2-5
Count at least 20 million
Motility more than 63
Morphology more than 30
Did he have any clumping issues?
My husband's reproductive urologist recommended L-Carnitine 500mg 2x/day plus other vitamins like a multi, coq10. He took it for 3 months and his next SA was vastly improved.
