Are you feeling rushed?

I wanted to do a clicky poll with people's ages, but my stupid work computer won't let me. I know it's rude to ask how old you are, but I'm curious. I'll be 31 in about a week and I'm definately feeling some anxiety about needing to have healthy babies sooner rather than later.

I'm still a wee little thing but I always wanted my babies young. So some days I feel like I'm taking too long but in reality I know that I still have quite a few years to go.

Oh, and I'm 23.

I'll be 33 in November and DH will be 34. I definitley feel rushed. I had hoped to have 3 by 35 and be done. That is looking less and less likely. I've been starting to rethink my plans, we'll just have to see what the future brings.

I do feel a little rushed at 28 to have a baby. I really can't wait to have kids but also my little niece and nephews keep getting older and I want them to be closer in age.

I'll be 31 next month and I feel rushed as well. We want more than 1 kid (definitely 2, maybe 3) and we don't want to have them back to back but we may not have a choice in the matter.

I do.  I'll be 32 in August.  Always thought I would be at least a mother of one by my age.  It helps a little that my sister just had her first this past fall and she is almost 34.  But yes, I do feel a bit of a rush.  Just didn't anticipate any delays (oh naivete) and since we want at least two now I do feel the pressure a bit...

I'll be 31 in a few weeks. I still get told "oh you have plenty of time!". And all I can think is I'm 3 years into this with nothing. DH and I dreamed of 5 kids. I might have "plenty of time" for one but my big family isnt much of an option any more!

I'm just shy of 29 and my DH is 32.  I feel rushed mainly because of all the difficulties we have faced.  I feel like it is going to take forever and a day before we have the opportunity to try again and then last long enough to have a baby.

Around the 18th is a great day to be born.  Besides my sis and I, my DH's best friend in college will be 31 on the 17th of June too.

I'm 28, and I know it's stupid and irrational, but yes, I do feel kind of rushed. You know how we get dumb ideas in our head that we can't let go of? One of mine was that I'd be a 28 y/o mommy. Too late for that. "Before 30" is my new goal, which I realize I have no control over.

I turned 35 in January.  We'd like to have one more child, but so far I don't feel rushed persay.  I think my "magic" age of feeling rushed would be 38.  I don't know why but that's where I'd start to really think about it.

A little.  I am only 28 but I have always wanted a big family but I also thought I would wait until I was 30 to have kids.  But once I met my H I wanted kids right away.  We want a good size family so the sooner the better.

Yes - I'm 41, so I absolutely feel like I'm running out of time to give DS a sibling close in age to grow up with.

I'm 28, so I don't feel too rushed for this baby, but I do when I think about the next one, especially because we'd like them to be about 3-4 years apart.

I'm 22. I know I have plenty of time.. but the fact that it took me 2.5 years to get my BFP. Then the fact that I'm starting over in finding Mr.Right has me freaked out.. I truthfully.. always wanted to be done with having kids by the time I was 25.. And now I feel there is no hope for that. So my new goal is to be done by the time I'm 30. We will see how that goes. I have decided that if by the time I'm 30 and have not found Mr. Right I will be looking into single parent IVF.. I want to be a mother either way. While I'd like to have a child in a loving home with two parents, I'm not willing to give up my dream of children though just because all I seem to meet are douche bags

Somewhat.  I'm 35 and DH is 37.  We're just passed a year and a half of trying.  Originally we wanted two kids, but if it takes this long the second time, it probably won't happen.

Yes!  I'm 31 and DH is 35.  I waited until 30 to try and wanted 2 by 35.  I guess its still possible.  Trying to think on the positive side here.

I'm 32 and my h will be 32 in July. I do feel like we need to get this show on the road. I don't want to be 1,000 when the kid graduates!

I definitely feel rushed. I turned 30 in April and I was trying to get pregnant. I was diagnosed with a blighted ovum two weeks ago and miscarried. It was really hard because I was looking forward to having a child this year. It doesn't help that all my coworkers in there early 20's are all having children. I wish I hadn't waited so long but I wanted to be ready mentally for a child. I'd like to have at least two children In the next few years.

I feel rushed at 27 only because our son will be 6 this summer. We have been talking about TTC since he was 3, and trying since he was 4. I have had to let go that they will not be close in age at all but take comfort in knowing that they will be at least, somewhat close

I feel an enormous amount of pressure to get that BFP and sticky baby soon.  I am 33, but DH is 44 and I know he'd like to be able to retire by the time the time our future child graduates from college.  We were ecstatic to get a BFP as soon as we started trying and never dreamed that we'd be where we are- 7 months later, 2 pregnancies and no babies.  Once upon a time, we had planned on 2 children but then life events, including an 18 month stint with unemployment, put us in the one child category.  I need this to happen soon.

Yes, I feel rushed.  It has less to do with our ages (late 20s) than to do with the fact that there is a 2 year window in which my DH will be able to work "normal" 50 or so hour weeks before he goes back to his 90 hour weeks.  I wanted to take advantage and get help with the childcare from him (since I also work full time).  A year of the window has already been shot, so we'll see about the second year.

 My DH wanted kids before he was 30, but that's not happening now.  So he told me the other night we should aim for before I'm 30. We'll see!

I know I am relatively younger compared to most of the PPs, but I feel rushed. I am 26... my mom was 27 when she had me, and for some reason that has always been my goal age for a baby. It's still possible, but the window is getting smaller. Plus, we would like to have three of four. We just hit the one year mark of TTC yesterday, couple that with two losses, and I just feel let down and disappointed about the whole process.

I am 29 and not feeling too rushed because of my age, but because of DS. He just turned 3, so even if I get pregnant again soon, they will be almost 4 years apart. I am trying to think positively, though...at this rate we will only have 1 in collage at a time!

I'm 31 (turning 32 in September). I don't really feel rushed age-wise, but I do feel rushed in terms of the age gap widening between DS and baby #2. He and the baby would have been 2.5 years apart if I hadn't miscarried. Now they will be a minimum of 3 years apart. I know there is no way to predict how emotionally close siblings will be, and that age difference doesn't necessarily matter, but I really want them to be close enough to enjoy the same childhood activities.

I'm 35 and DH is 37, so I feel rushed age wise and rushed regarding the age gap between DD and baby #2.  DD is almost 3, so realistically there will be 4 years or more between them, and our original plan was to have kids 3 years apart.

I just turned 32 and DH just turned 35 but we already have a 4 year old DS who will be over 5 if we are blessed with another.

I justs turned 35 in April and DH turns 39 in June- I do feel like I am rushed... although I have thrown out my "done having kids by 35" plan.... clearly that didnt happen and I am not willing to stop trying for another.... I also wanted DS and second child to be close in age-- but I am letting that go too.... But I do feel the pressure!!! Ugh- why is this so easy for some people and so hard for others.... I so envy the people that get their bfp easily and then go on to have a worry free happy healthy pregnancy....
