"Matchy" sibset

DH and I have fallen in love with the name Selah June for our new DD.  DD#1 is Lyla Grace.  Is this sibset too matchy?  I don't think I mind it, and DH thinks I'm dumb for even wondering.  I asked my BMB and they were about 50/50.  WDYT?

I don't think they are too matchy so I would go for it.

I personally don't understand what one sibling name has to do with the other siblings name...IMO... (except for like Bert and Ernie lol or Lois and Clark)

    But your name is NMS....

Lol, I'm with ya.  I really don't think that much about it either, but I know others may think otherwise.  I guess if DH and I don't mind it then it shouldn't matter anyway, right?  Thanks for the feedback :)

  • They both end with an "ah" sound and are both two syllables. So are Lena and Dora, and those don't sound similar at all. Now, Lila and Layla would be matchy. I think some people are overthinking just a little! I love your names-I think you should go for it,

How are you pronouncing Selah? I was just discussing this name with some friends, and we came up with several different pronunciations. I say it "sell-uh". Which is based on a Hebrew pronunciation. My friend had always heard it pronounced "sale-uh", and said that was from a primarily Hispanic background. Finally, someone else suggested they would pronounce it "Seal-uh". So...

Depending on how you would pronounce it and how rhyme-y it would be with Lyla, it either works or is too matchy.

The second option is the way we intend to pronounce it; I actually didn't realize there was another way!  Thought the Hebrew pronunciation was "sale-uh."

  • I think it's a really cute sibset personally! Although, I did read the name as Sell-uh and way prefer that prounounciation... but either way it's a cute name. And I love the MN June!

I say it like See La. Like Sela Ward. I think it is too close to Lyla.

How about Cecilia, has the same feel.
