Awful Cough

I've had a horrible cough ever since I came home from the hospital (almost 2 weeks ago). I know it's nothing contagious bc LO hasn't coughed once, and I had a chest xray with no signs of pneumonia or the flu. It is driving me insane! I don't know what would cause a cough like this and I doubt there is any medicine I can take and continue to breast feed. I feel like my immune system is going down hill ever since he was born. I've also had a kidney infection. I've never had so many issues in my life.

Any advice/thoughts?

Cough & sore throat meds

• Sore throat sprays or lozenges are generally considered safe, as are cough drops. Avoid eating excessive amounts of cough drops containing menthol. Large amounts of menthol can reduce milk supply.
• Many forms of Robitussin, Delsym and Benylin are considered compatible with breastfeeding. Always check the active ingredients, as there are many versions.
