Success after IF

Ladies who got BH early

Hi Ladies, ?I have been getting BH since about 17 weeks. ?It seems like every night I get them, and I am fine during the day. ?They are just an uncomfortable feeling but not painful, then I feel my belly and it is harder than usual. ?Sometimes it is only a part of my uterus, sometimes it is the whole thing. ?Are they both BH? ?Especially if I get a few in a row, if it is just a part of my uterus should I be concerned? ?And I am worried that I may get real contractions and not be able to tell the difference - any advice? ?How are they different? ?I am 24 weeks now. ?Thanks!

Re: Ladies who got BH early

  • I get bh all the time, seriously ALL. THE. TIME.

I'll get 8-10 an hour.  I haven't been checked since 35 w, but I wasn't dialated then, so for me they don't do anything!  I would talk to your Dr about it if you're concerned, each dr has different numbers that are concerning to them.  It's never bothered my dr that I have so many.  My sister had the same amount through her pregnancies as well.

Married on 3.20.2004. It took 30 month, 2 failed adoptions and IVF for our first miracle. We have had 9 foster kids since he was born and started the domestic adoption process when he was 10 month old, we had 4 failed matches in that time. After our daughter was born we brought her home and spent 2 weeks fearing we might lose her because of complications that came up. But Praise God all went through and she is ours forever! • I am on a home uterine monitor for contractions and my dr. will be called if I have more than 4 in an hour (I monitor twice a day). Mine feel the same way you described.. a tightening and hardening. I was told by a nurse that the only way to tell if they are BH or real contractions is if there are changes to the cervix, so apparently they feel the same. I was also told that having some contractions at this point was normal. I would call your dr. if you feel like you are having tightening/hardening more than 4-6 times per hour...just to let them know.
  • I would mention it to your doc. ?I was having the same thing happen from that early on. ?At 21.5 weeks, I mentioned it and the doc sent me to L&D to make sure they were not real contractions. ?Mine did not hurt at all either. ?They turned out to be real contractions which continued through the remainder of my pregnancy. ?
  • eI've got them since 154weeks. call if u get more than 4 an hour- iI camtcan't ecver time mine.
