Check into your hospital's carseat safety class

My husband and I attended a carseat safety class put on by our hospital.......paid $20 for the class and walked away with a $100 Evenflo convertible (front facing/rear facing) carseat that will hold up to 50 lbs! As first time parents we definitely learned A LOT and it was obviously well worth the money.  I didn't know that kids have to stay in booster seats until they are 8 years old..........last I heard it was 6!

yep!  8 or 80lbs!  Crazy, huh?  I think after I out grew my car seat, that was the end of it.  But I guess with just had the lap belts in the back seat back then, so it was a bit safer.

I know right! I remember bouncing all over my mom's Buick LOL! Heck there are people who drive that need booster seats. I had a co-worker in TN who was 86 lbs and you couldn't even see her eyes when she was in her car.....crazy

I didn't hit 80 pounds until I was around 13 years old.  I would have been MORTIFIED to still be in a booster seat at that time.  lol...

That's awesome. We tried to do this, too and found out the class only gave out free carseats to residents of the county the class was held in. Boo. Lucky you!
