DD finally has good head control and she's crazy about standing up (She'll even stand herself up in my lap when she's holding onto my thumbs). So..I thought a jumper of some sort might be fun to try out.
Instead of putting her feet on the ground and standing up though, she picked one foot off the ground and used the other foot to spin around in circles. She spent 5 minutes doing pirouettes last night. Hilarious.
What I'm wondering is if anyone else is using a jumper like this and how long did it take for your LO to start actually "jumping". Also wondering if *I'm* jumping the gun here and she's just too young for it. The thing does kinda swallow her up, but she's definitely tall enough to hit the floor.
Re: Doorway jumper?
We don't have a doorway jumper either, but we do have a jumperoo for DS. His legs don't quite touch the ground, so we have a flat box placed underneath for some added height. DS doesn't quite get the bounce/jump part yet ... he mainly just touches and reaches for the toys. We lightly bounce it to trigger the lights/music/sounds for him.
I think this is the perfect age to get started since she has good head control now. Like everything else, this is a new learning opportunity for her. I'm sure she'll be jumping in no time!
I hope you caught the spinning pirouettes on video ... it sounds so cute!!
