I start birth control on my next period, but don't start Lupron till mid-July. I am going on vacation right before I start Lupron...can I have a couple drinks or should I avoid drinking completely?
TTC #1 since Dec. 2008
01/10 - DH diagnosed with Azoospermia
05/10 - First Biopsy - producing sperm
08/11 - Second Biopsy..4 vials frozen
08/12 - First IVF BFN & no more vials
Don't know our next plan...
My RE says a glass or two of wine is fine even through stims. I had a drink or two here and there throughout BCP, but have stopped with stims and will abstain from here on out. I would have some if I were you!
ttc since 2/2010 ~ me (36): Hypothyroid (on Levothroid), low vit. d, borderline/high fsh (day 3: between 7-10) (day 10: 13 during CCCT), AFC: 14 dh (31): awesome (minus one sample with agglutination) Diagnosis:possible DOR and/or unexplained + elevated NK cells + MTHFR (C677T - one copy)
MAY 2011 - FEB 2012 - 3 injectable IUI's with numerous cancellations due to high TSH levels MAY 2012 - onto IVF/ICSI (Antagonist Protocol) on BCP and Folgard (3 week delay - cyst - boooo) 5/21 start stims 5/30 ER 11R 8M 3F 6/2 3DT of 3 6/12 Beta #1 83 | 6/14 Beta #2 196 | 6/21 Beta #3 3818 | 6/28 Beta #4 22,213 | 7/2 1st U/S - 2 on board! 8/24 CVS reveals that we have a boy AND a girl on board!
Healthy baby boy and girl born in February, 2013 at 38 weeks and 2 days!
For both my IVF cycles, I completely stopped drinking once I started stims. I think drinking on BCP's is totally fine. You may not feel like drinking once you start Lupron in case you get headaches (this was the case for me) but it shouldn't effect anything.
I haven't been told either way, but I plan to nix both alcohol and caffeine (boy that should be a fun week) once I start stims.
You're brave quitting both at once - lol! I just started with caffeine, which hasn't been that hard for me to give up.

I would think while on BCP you should be fine. I did a lupron flare so stims and lupron started at the same time. I stopped drinking a week or two before that. I would enjoy your vaca and have a few!
