Hi ladies, I always come here for the best responses for my FTM questions. My LO is MSPI and we are not introducing any milk products except maybe small amount of yogurt in a few weeks....Baby is eating pureed vegetables and fruits in addition to her Neocate bottles.
I feel that she might be ready to gum something harder and was wondering if any of you moms gave your teething babies the end of the Italian Bread (since it contains no milk products) to chew on.....Our fear is the choking and I am afraid she will get too much at one time.......Any suggestions would be appreciated...TIA
Re: Italian Bread Crust for Teething?
Oh, how many teeth does your DD have? I think you have to be careful about anything you give if she's able to "bite" off a piece. We never had a problem with the celery stalk (she has 6 teeth now).
You're welcome. I hope she is feeling better soon!
Excellent idea! I totally forgot about pizza crust. It's firm but becomes mushy. The Italian bread would concern me because it's kind of...flaky (?) and the flakes can be kind of sharp.
MIL gave DS the end of a crusty Italian bread. The first time, I was unsure, but I watched him like a hawk, and it actually worked out well. He's never bitten a piece off. Any pieces that flaked off, were light enough for him to eat with his gums.
He enjoyed it, and now he's graduated to a slice!

That is my go-to teething tactic. And my baby screaming tactic. And my "eating dinner right after the baby" tactic.
