Blue Dress for my Baby Girl's Shower?

Okay, so I have next to no maternity clothes because they are expensive. I've been getting away with wearing my pre-pregnancy clothes in different ways (dresses with leggings ect) but now it's reached a point where it just looks like 'seriously girl, you're pregnant, buy pregnant people clothes' so I went out and bought a nursing/maternity dress (because I cannot justify $30 to wear something only for the next 15 weeks). I look much better in blue than pink, and I found a dress I loved in blue (bonus: DH LOVES blue on me) and I dress I wasn't nearly as crazy about in pink. I bought the blue one but I kept the receipt. I could exchange it.

If the blue dress I loved came in pink this would have been easier.

But what do you think?

That is the blue dress, my store doesn't have it in purple or else I would have settled for that.

That is the pink dress.

I really dont think the color of your dress matters that much, but that is just me. I dont see anyone actually focusing on the fact that you have a blue dress on and judging you...and if they do-they can get over it. Aside, the dress you got is cute and patterned, and if it makes you feel good in it, then by all means-rock it!

I voted for a blue dress being fine.. but when it came time for me to find a shower dress I ultimately found a blue & white one. (we're having a boy) I think there's absolutely nothing wrong with you choosing another color, especially if everyone knows what you're having, but I just wanted to match the rest of the theme lol!

I really don't think the color of your dress matters. Wear whatever is comfortable to you, and you like. I'm having a girl, but I hate the color pink so I can promise I won't be wearing pink either. I love the dress you chose by the way.

I really like the blue dress- even better in blue then in the purple!!  I never even thought about matching the color of my shower dress to the baby.  I am having a boy and wearing a pink & black dress

I actually tried that blue dress on today!!! Make sure you order a size smaller than you usually wear. I tried on an XL (normal size for me) and it was way too big. I think it'd be fine...everyone knows you're having a girl!

It did seem big, and I usually wear a sm/med but I did get a medium... only cause I'm afraid my boobs are gonna blow up when I start nursing lol!!

I am jealous you've been able to get away with pre-pregnancy clothes this long!! My whole closet is maternity now and I wish I would have known I would literally go from small to large sizes (my bust has forced that change!!). I built up my wardrobe by shopping at consignment shops and borrowing from friends, so you should look into that as an affordable option!
