People have no idea how long we are pregnant..

I find it interesting that when I tell people I am almost 8 months that they very frequently say "Oh well, she'll be here any day now!" I feel like Im disappointing them to say  that actually I still have 2 months left ( hopefully!)

I guess its that whole "pregnancy is TEN months not nine" like most people think.

I know.  I get the same reaction.  So I also tell them how many weeks I have left so it gives me a better perspective.

  • Yup.  Same thing.  I always get "Oh so end of June?"

I just tell people how many weeks I have left until her due date, too. Since different sources count the months differently, it's too confusing. A month is not just 4 weeks so by the time we're this far along, it doesn't add up well.

Yeah, I agree.   I was so happy to hit May 1st because that ment I could say "the end of next month" instead of giving people months or weeks when they ask.  My c-section is June 27th, or earlier if she decides to come earlier :)  I have 40 days to go!

I stick to the weeks as well, and then throw in July just to help with the math.

  • Yeah, it's weird because I just started my 8th month, but I have all 4 weeks of month 8 to go and all 4 weeks of month 9 to go (8 weeks total until my due date), so two full months.  People would think I was pregnant for 10 months, but it's really just 8 and 9.

  • My husband is actually bitter about this.  Like it was some person who said ten months instead of nature.  I think he feels cheated.  I keep saying "pregnancy is FOURTY weeks, not 37", but he is still grumpy about it!

If we were cats we could have had babies a billion times over by now.

I hate saying either. When I say "Oh Im 30 weeks, so only 10 weeks left. Not long now). They always say I have a long time still. Um, excuse me...I dont. I really dont.
