I'm hiring for my dream job...

Well kinda sorta.  I never even heard of this job before a few days ago when I got the requisition to fill.  The job title is a " Global Mobility Specilaist "

Linky to explain what the job entails: https://icould.com/article/what-is-a-global-mobility-specialist/

I have intervied 3 people and I am so excited when I talk to them about what they do and what their skill set is.  I do love my job but I REALLY love hearing these candidates stories.  Too bad the job requires a law degree :(

Anyone every heard of this job before?

Never before heard of this.  Or perhaps I have in some variation (like maybe back when I had to take International Business in college).  But this job would be so cool.  And given the legalities of relocating to different countries - all the paperwork and such, I can totally understand the need for a law degree.

I never heard of this in my International Business classes Sad shame on them.  I know it seems silly but I am really sad over this.

I work for the State Dept. (civil service for now, but probably will work overseas eventually) and we have a lot of these "Mobility Specialists" in DC (they have a different name, but same job description)... and I can assure you they are not lawyers!

The private sector has the right idea!

The "mobility specialist" do they work for the govt or private?  Do you know what else they are called.  I seriously would like to shift my career track that way which is doable since I am already in HR.

Most work for DoS (hired through USA Jobs.com) and a few are contracted (the majority are gov employeeS). The one I know off the top of my head has the title "travel systems admin." They facilitate moves to embassies, help with visas and the like.

Thanks you have motivated me to do some serious research on this.  I did the govt contractor route before (not for me) but I will check out that title ... I KNOW they are private mobility companies so maybe they all do not requrire JD's
