The Girlfriends' Guide

Has anyone else read The Girlfriends' Guide to Pregnancy? I finished it yesterday and loved it. The author, Vicki Iovine, is honest and funny. I remember a friend saying a while ago that she loved this book when pregnant. As a FTM, it was great to read this perspective, as opposed to books that are so medical and scary.

On another note, the name Iovine looked familiar, and her husband is Jimmy, the mentor on American Idol. Gotta love trivia.

  • I read it and loved it!  I didn't make that connection with her name, so I'm glad you mentioned it.

I haven't read it yet, but I did buy it for myself for mother's day along with Jenny mccarthy's book. Looking forward to reading the girlfriends guide now!

I want to read McCarthy's Belly Laughs, too. That will probably be one of my summer pool books!

  • I started it, and immediately was turned off by her stereotypical (and now that I've had a baby myself, I know it to also be grossly inaccurate) portrayal of labor & delivery.  I really wasn't into it, at all.  Didn't finish it, deleted it from my iBooks, and would never recommend it.
