help me troubleshoot

I am about to break down.... LO is 12 lbs and so far the CD's have done pretty well.  We have an occasional leak, but nothing too bad.  This weekend, every diaper that I put on him leaked!!  What the heck?

We use a few different brands of OS dipes (BG, Kawaii, Sunbaby).  I have them on the smallest setting, I guess I just assume that because he is so small, it should be there.  The leaks are mostly around the legs, but on occassion have been on his stomach (peepee pointed down).

The inserts are soaked so I don't think it is a repelling issue.  And we are changing him pretty frequently.

Thoughts?  Do you think it is a fit issue?  Do I need to wait until he gets a little bigger (weird because they were doing ok prior to this)?  Or do I need to change his snap settings already?

If the inserts are soaked it sounds like you need more absorbancy.

I was just thinking about this....I probably should have used the word wet and not soaked.  I have some hemp inserts and some 4 layer bamboo.  Would you use them by themselves or along with a MF?

I am no expert but I find that a hemp behind a MF works really well.

It COULD be an absorbency issue, but we had a similar situation and it was a fit thing.  For DD, our OS diapers didn't really fit until she was closer to 15 lbs.  She just had TINY legs and we couldn't get a good fit.  For us, leg leaks = too big of a diaper.  She is also a tummy sleeper and we'd get tummy leaks because her little belly was just tiny.  I'd put a diaper on her laying down, and then stand her up to pull up her pants and see a big belly gap.  So it may be that he's just too small.

I would add a hemp.  I personally shy away from mf, so I use bamboo/hemp combos all the time.  I would leave them on the smallest size and just stuff more, and see how that works.
