How do you all deal with your kids lying to you? I'm talking "little" lies. What kinds of consequences do you have that get through to your kids?
lying is not acceptable in my house. at any level about anything. minor infractions get a time out SD is 6 and DS is 2. We are already drilling it into their heads that lying is not okay. for more serious infractions as they get older it will be loss of toys/experiences/cell phones etc.
We also drill into the kids that lying is wrong and unacceptable in our house. But it's amazing what they try to get away with! SS4 will lie about little things like flushing the toilet! But no matter how small the lie, they know there are consequences. Sometimes they end up spending some time in the corner, or we take away a priviledge like a family bike ride or movie.
