He thought he saw something on the U/S, but it ended up being nothing.  He just did my routine 1st appointment while I was there.  He's kind of a jerk and I think I'm going to be switching OBs now that I've actually had to deal with him and not just his staff.

What the hell?  That couldn't be explained (in a calming way) prior to your appointment?  I hate him too.  Please get a new OB.  If mine ever did that, I'd be gone.

I don't know what he said to make you think he was a jerk, but pause for just a moment before you jump ship.  He did proactively bring you in because there was a questionable u/s.  He could have waited until your next appt. 

The reason I say this is my last doctor came off as very cold and clinical.  My aunts all go to him and warned me that his bedside manner wasn't the best.  But technically he is excellent.  I was able to get past that (mostly because I am an engineer and don't need/want the feel-good side as much) and was really glad to have him as my doctor.  I'm very sad to have left him.
