Anyone cloth diapering?

With dd1, I was young and knew nothing about the options of cloth. With ds, we never had a chance and with dd2, we started cloth at 3 months. I'm looking forward to doing it again this time as soon as baby hits 12 pounds (I don't love newborn cloth lol) and hop dd2 is potty trained by then.

I am. I have already started building my stash. I have some Kissaluv fitteds, ai1's and prefold's for the newborn stage until I decide what I like and some TT's and GM fitteds in one size. I am hoping to do mostly fitteds and wool.

I do with DS1 and am looking forward to pulling out the stash of newborn diapers. It took me awhile to get the hang of it when he was little and I went through a few different types. I'll probably have to pare down my stash or find someplace else because diapers for 2 won't fit in our changing table drawers.

Why didn't you like newborn cloth? I much prefered that over toddler poop.

We would prefer to, but unless my SO gets a giant raise, I will have to work after the baby comes..and most day cares around here (my mom's free one included) will not deal with cloth diapers. Frustrating.

We have a few more months to figure it out, though

I am. I have my newborn stash complete courtesy of Craigslist. I have collection of prefolds, aio's, and pockets. I also have 2 Flip covers and 3 Flip inserts. I want to start the rest of my stash but I am nervous to buy more when I don't know what kinds I will like.

Yep, we'll be cloth diapering again. This will be our third in CD. Thankfully, I'm more experienced and educated this time, so I will probably sell a few of the diapers I that didn't work well for us & get some more of what did. I have to say, I CD'ed in the hospital - I honestly like prefolds & covers for the tiny ones - they seem to be the only ones I can get snug enough for those explosive EBF newborn poop.

We have far too many AIOs. I went a little nuts with W's stash. I love CDing, it's so much fun and so cute!

I would love to cloth diaper the whole way through. I've already made all the newborn size and cut the cloth for the other sizes. I'm very excited about using them! There are so many options and companies out there it makes it much easier then before.

Check out your states day care codes. They might say they won't take it hoping no one checks, but they might have to. That happened to a friend of mine. Also, I would take an all in one or whatever you plan on using so they can see how easy cd'ing is now. Just like putting on a disposable, except you don't trash it.

Since I am going to be a SAHM I plan on cloth diapering and also making my own baby food. DH and I are really excited to do this but we get a lot of crazy looks when we tell our families.

We plan on it. Anything that may help speed up the potty-training process is worth the effort, IMO.

For us toddler poop has been super easy, I think it hasn't been plopable maybe once. With dd2, I just wasn't ready. After a cesarean, being born a week before dd1s bday, and at the start of the holiday season I couldn't juggle it with cloth. I'm sure the lack of sleep and my fears of SIDS happening again didn't help. So, I went with natural diapers until she fit into pockets and saved my sanity lol.

Our entire changing table is diapers right now. If this lo is a baby I'm going to have to weed out our stash. A lot. Lol.

Definitely planning on cloth diapering. I'm just trying to figure out if it's worth it to buy newborn CDs or go with disposable until the one-size ones fit..

A friend of mine did this just a couple weeks ago at a moms night out place. She kept showing how easy it was and how it was just like disposable but you put it in this bag instead of the trash. The girl threw two out! She was livid!

Pew did too. Until I showed them that the cloth we were using weren't the old school pins and rubber pants type.

I am a part-time cloth diaper mom. I did it at home and used disposable at daycare. When I travelled I used some of each. I plan to do the same the next time around. I might try to use cloth a little more.

You don't have to spray EBF NB poop, you know that, right? You just toss the poop and all into the hamper and into the washer. It's water soluble.

For me, as much as I love cloth, it wasn't worth extra laundry in the early days or teaching family how to use them so they can help.

Check out the cloth diaper board. I learned tons of stuff lurking there, and they have a pretty inclusive faq at the top of the page.

I would really like to CD, but my husband is very much against it (he's grossed out about putting them in our washer--I don't think he understands that baby poop/vomit will be going in the washer even if we don't CD).

I'm cloth diapering and making my own baby food. I'm not a SAHM but the baby will be with my mom during the day and she's totally on board. She did the same with us, so it's normal to her. I didn't do it with DD because I was working and finishing college. Plus, cloth diapers have come a loong way. There are a ton of different kinds and many go on right like disposables. And they're so unbelievably cute!

I will be! We CD our DD from when she was 10 pounds until she was 18 months. We used BG one size so that is when they fit her. I have no patience for prefolds.

We will. I haven't done any proper research yet but I have a friend here that did it so she's going to walk me through. My one issue is that we don't have a dryer (no one does really) and I'm a bit overwhelmed thinking about the laundry side of things. I'm sure we can figure it out though!

We will be. I'm really excited! Our families think we're crazy too but I love how much money it saves in the long run, how much better for the environment they are, and how much cuter they are. I haven't started on my stash yet but I need to soon!

We CD our 8 month old, so we will definitely be CDing our Dec baby. We did part time CD for the newborn stage with #1...I was overwhelmed by the idea of doing it from the beginning. But now that seems silly (it's a live and learn thing, I think). We're planning a home birth this time, so we'll CD from the start this time.

Oh, re: daycare...our daycare told us they couldn't do it (said it was a licensing thing). But then their intake paperwork said, "Type of Diaper to use (circle one): Cloth...Disposable"

So I literally thought he'd be in disposables at DC until the month before he started there. I just planned to convince them later on. But PP is right...they might tell you they "can't" and be totally not aware of the fact they have to. I've also heard that you can get a note from your pediatrician saying that it's recommended for your LO which will further encourage them.

Our LO is the first one at his DC to have ever been CD'd, and they have had zero problems with it since they started 4 months ago.

MH and I want to. I have a ton to learn on it though. I plan on spending my summer reading up on it and checking out the CD board for tips! I'm nervous about the extra laundry, but I think it's the better (and cheaper in the long run) thing to do!

We CD our son and I love it! I cannot wait to use it on this baby too. I have a smallish stash of newborn diapers but since I tend to have bigger babies we usually just start with one size or smalls.

I don't use my dryer for my CDs! Just hang dry.

We'll be cloth diapering, I got DH on board with the cost savings and environmental impact. We hope to have a few more kids, which would bring out the cost savings. Id like to CD from day 1, so my plan is newborn fitteds then one-size. I do laundry most days anyways for DH's uniforms, so the laundry aspect isn't an issue. We'll see what actually happens, I know how the best plans tend to go

We cloth diaper DS. Last time around, we thought the AIOs would fit him when he was a newborn, and were completely incorrect when he wasn't a big baby like we thought he would be. So, we ended up using disposables until he fit. We REALLY like our KaWaii pocket diapers for him now. But, for a newborn, we'll probably invest in some prefolds with covers.
