Just got outed on Facebook

A lady in my office just totally outed my baby on Facebook. I think I caught the post and deleted it before anyone could notice - I hope. 

Does Facebook still email the text of status comments to all of the previous commenters?  I opted out of that option years ago.

It's unreal how stupid people are. If u havent said anything on Facebook, why would they? This just happened to a friend of mine.

I know, I couldn't believe it!  And when I told work, I specifically told everyone "No Facebook". This woman has already told at least two of our co-workers, one of whom is the brother in law of the company owner, who I don't want to know yet. People need to keep their big fing mouths shut.

I figured out very quickly I am not telling anyone!  They should be honored to be one of the few that know not go around telling everyone in sight.  So frustrating!

I'm sorry you had this happen to you! Some people just have no common sense. I would never say anything on anyone's FB before they did!

I'm so sorry for what happened and to be the bearer of bad news. I still get FB notification emails, so I went to double check and yes, they send emails with the text of the response in the email. I found ones like that for comments to a post on my wall and ones for my comment on someone else's wall. Hopefully you got it in time though!

Ugh, I hate when people take it upon themselves to spread other people's big news. I think they do send the text, sadly. I'm sorry your coworker did that.

Crud. I hope if any of the other people who commented on that particular status update saw her obnoxious comment, that they have the brains to keep quiet about it. We are going to do the big FB announcement in about three weeks after I move to 2T.

I just told my siblings (I have 6) on Monday about the baby and specifically said no Facebook! I am stalking it like a hawk and always reminding them. We haven't told everyone that should know before Facebook and I didn't want to say anything until late in 2nd tri.

This is why I'm not telling anyone until I'm comfortable with it being out.  I'm surrounded by blabbermouth FB addicts.

I'm terrified about this! The one thing I have told those who know is that it should not go on Facebook. If or when I want to announce it, it'll be up to me. My engagement was announced by someone else and I don't want my pregnancy to go the same route.

I understand that people are excited and happy, but it's not their good news to spill. I'm so sorry that your coworker did that.

Wow - I have totally locked down my fb page so that noone can write on my wall. I can't risk some idiot spreading our news before I'm ready.

 I think this is a good idea.  Change your settings so that no one can post stuff on your wall until you are ready to announce it.  I hate when other people tell news that is not their's to share.  It's your news, so YOU should get to be the one to share it.

I blocked people from posting on my wall too.  That way I don't even have to worry about it.

I think the worst part of it is that when we got to work this morning, she was laughing about it!  UGH!

OMG i would kill her...i would really want to cry though...i don't know why some people are so rude.  if you're not getting flooded with emails or wall posts, i'm guessing most people didn't see it.  most of us opted out of the texts a long time ago bc it got really annoying so i'd guess most don't have that option on their phone anyway...
