The Baby Book by Dr. Sears was my bible. It covered everything from sleeping, gas, nursing, etc with tons of helpful tips and tricks. I still reference it now for some things and DD is 18 months.

I've heard some mixed things about Dr. Sears and AP. Did you find that the book and methods within were pretty adaptable?
I am a FTM, so who knows, but a friend gave me her copy of Baby 911. It's by the authors of Best Baby Bargains. I have been flipping through it and I've liked their recommendations so far.
Re: Recommendations for baby care book?
I really liked the Mayo Clinic's Guide to a Healthy Pregnancy & the AAP's Your Baby's First Year. Both have BFing info, but aren't picture-heavy.
I've posted this link before, but I would recommend this website for great BFing videos & info. I found it extremely useful.
