A friend just told me that there's an old wives tale that if you put 1 tbsp of baking soda in a cup, pee in another cup, then pour the pee over the baking soda, it'll let you know what you're having. If it fizzes like a soda, you're having a boy. If it doesn't do anything, you're having a girl. It worked all three times for her. I just tried it and it didn't do anything, so that predicts a girl for me. I guess we'll see in a few weeks!
Re: Have you heard of the baking soda test?
I've never heard that, but you have to remind us of this post so we can see if it was accurate!
I did it and it was hard to tell what it was doing. It fizzed for like a second when I poured the pee in, which is normal because of the force of the liquid you would think. But then it stopped pretty quickly.
OP, did yours fizz at ALL? Also, I thought I read somewhere that you were supposed to do this after 10 weeks, and I think I did it around 7 weeks...
I got like a dozen or so bubbles, but they were what I would expect from the force of the liquid. I'm guessing the "fizz" would be more like if you mixed vinegar and baking soda.
I'm very interested to see if this test is at all accurate. Even if not, it was free and something to try lol
