Thoughts? It was my great-grandmothers name and I've always liked it. Then I just heard Bruce Willis named his new daughter Mabel Rae and I think it's adorable. Is it too old ladyish?

Well it certainly fits with the 'old lady' trend, which I personally quite enjoy, but Mabel doesn't do it for me..

Awful, just awful. But I don't love most "old lady" names. It also reminds me of "Mad About You." I much prefer something more modern, like Maeve.

I LOVE Mabel.  I think it's absolutely adorable on a little girl, classy for a middle-aged woman, and perfect for an old lady.

DH's grandma was Mabel. It sounds like an 80 year old. I don't like it.

I love it and am bummed Bruce Willis and his SO used it. For me, names always lose some of their sparkle when they are used by a celebrity.

Still too old ladyish for me.  Didn't like it on Mad About You and I still don't like it.

In the late 90s Mad About You vs Friends battle between Mabel and Emma, Emma definitely won.

I actually think this is one of the least old ladyish names in the old lady name category. I love it!

Mabel is very adorable & while I like Rae I wouldn't use that MN with Mabel because it feels old together. I think Mabel needs a fresher MN.
