FTM & FT Grandparents on each side!!

I am a first time mom and there are no grandchildren yet for my parents or DH's - we were just talking today how crazy it is to give each of our parents their first grand child! I can't wait for them to find out on Mother's Day!

 

Anyone else in my situation?  Anyone else waiting to tell their family? It's taking CRAZY amounts of self-control to not tell anyone.

My parents are first time grandparents too.  They are ridiculously excited.  My dad said everyone at work is already calling him grandpa.  (even though we told him not to tell anyone yet...another story)

I've already accepted the fact that once we tell our parents and my brother, no one is going to have enough self-control to not tell anyone. I know they are going to be too excited to hold back - kind of like your dad!

This is our first baby and my parents will be FT grandparents.  My ILs have 10 other grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

We are in the same boat and we told our immediate families on Wed right after our first u/s (it was a success!!!, most beautiful little heartbeat).  After going through several miscarriages this was the first time we ever got a chance to see the heartbeat...I was a bucket of tears and needed my Mom:) Everyone was so incredibly happy for us!

I don't have parents (my dad passed when I was 12 and as far as I'm concerned I never had a mom).

My SIL got pregnant when she was a teenager, so this isn't my IL's first grandbaby.

This in my parents first and my SIL is due in July with the first on their side.

I wanted to wait until mother's day to tell our parents, but my SIL shower was last weekend and I knew that once they noticed i was not drinking the spiked lemonade eyebrows would be raised. So we told them all last week!

I am in the exact same boat! We obviously had to tell our parents right away and I made the mistake of mentioning that some things were a bit "off" before we found out to my grandmother so she was bugging my mom constantly to find out what was going on. Needless to say, I couldn't make my mom keep lying to her for the next 3 weeks so I broke down and told both her and my grandpa last weekend but the rest of both families will get in on the big news next weekend at Mother's Day. This will be the first grandchild on both sides for us as well and it's so exciting!!

That is so cool to hear stories similar to mine.  I am going to wait to tell extended family so we can enjoy this, but I have a feeling all of the parents are going to get big mouths once this happens. I better just tell everyone not long after Mother's Day so they hear it from me.

We had to tell my mom because we are going to be doing some house switching, so we wanted her to know as early as possible, and we didn't think it was fair that she knew and the rest of our parents didn't, so we told them all when we found out.  We told them not to tell anyone but we quickly realized that's not going to happen.  We told my brother and DH's brother and sis-in-law, who are due May 22.  Sis-in-law totally knew already, she could tell!!

This is the first grandchild for both mine & DH's families, too. It's almost overwhelming how excited everyone is. It's awesome though to see our parents work so hard to figure out what they want to be called and stuff. I love it.

However, my SIL is pregnant (about 16 weeks), and that will be my MIL's first grandchild.  Little does she know that she will hopefully be getting a second grandchild not long after!  We haven't told family yet.

Awww it is super special for all of you!  This will be my parents 6th and 7th grandchildren and my IL's 3rd and 4th.  Still special of course but not magical like the 1st is.  Enjoy telling them!

This is my mom's first (I'm an only child, my dad died when I was 2).  It will also be my IL's first...they have 3 children, DH is the middle and he is the first to get married too! We sure are making his siblings look bad, lol!

This is my mom?s and his mom?s first grandchild (both of our father?s have grandkids due to our half siblings).

I think what makes it even more special is that The Beau and I are both our mom?s only child. I think they are both over the moon!

I'm waiting until after my first appointment next week to make sure there really is a baby in there.  We'll tell our parents soon after (maybe Mother's day), as well as my twin brother.  We'll tell the rest of our siblings Memorial Day weekend, when we will all be together.

I'm waiting until after my first appointment next week to make sure there really is a baby in there.  We'll tell our parents soon after (maybe Mother's day), as well as my twin brother.  We'll tell the rest of our siblings Memorial Day weekend, when we will all be together.

 

My first appointment is also next week, on Tuesday. That's the biggest reason we have waited. I don't want to share the news til we have some more confirmation of what's going on!

My mom is absolutely ecstatic! I think the entire town is going to know she's going to be a grandma before I'm through my first trimester!

We are in the same boat as well. My parents and DH are going to be first time grandparents.

 We've already told our family when we were home visiting because I did not want to tell them over the phone. It was really hard not to tell some of my other friends/family that I am not close with but I waited until we had our first ultrasound for them. Now pretty much everyone knows but that is how we wanted it to be.

Yes, this is our first. My parents have no grandkids, but DH's sister has a daughter who will be 2 in July. We are also waiting til mothers day and it's driving me batty. Somehow I think my little bro knows because his "I want a nephew now" jokes have increased 10 fold.

So, so hard. I almost caved last weekend at my mom's birthday dinner but my middle brother wasnt home from school yet, and I wanted the whole family there.
