So I was talking to my SIL, who is also pregnant, and she goes on to tell me: "Make sure to drink lots of water because that decreases the chance of a miscarriage."
I mean really?? Thanks!

that definitely sounds made up. my doctor told me to make sure i drink more water and fluid in general to make sure i dont get dehydrated and to make sure i have healthy kidneys.
... in that dehydration can cause uterine contractions, maybe, but I think of this as a pre-term/early labor issue. I got really sick about a week before DD was born, and started having braxton-hicks contractions. My midwife stressed the improtance of getting hydrated to avoid early labor commencing. My SIL has also had some concerning contractions a couple of times, and her midwife told her to drink more water as well as had her come in to be checked out.
I haven't heard of the m/c thing though. I didn't think m/c could ever be avoided by anything you did or didn't do (barring extremes, of course).
Re: More pregnancy advice!
She due any minute now. I don't know where people get this stuff from... out of "you know what"

That only works if you drink through a straw though, if you raise your arms above your head to take a swig it could cause problems! J/K
It is good to drink lots of water, but not for the reason your SIL mention!
